    Hi Tikay,

Thanks for the explanation which I now completely understand.

You do run a good number of satellites at varying times of the day and I am sure that everyone has a fair chance of qualifying.

I have indeed been able to qualify for the majority of events that I have wanted to enter but would not have dreamt of re-entering having done so. I did not think it right to prevent other regulars from winning their own seat. However, thanks to your kind explanation I will have a chance to re-think.

Manchester definitely on my agenda. See you there.

Thanks tai-ger, I appreciate you getting back to me.

Be great to see you in Manchester.

PS - what is the significance of your alias, "tai-ger"?

    And is it pronounced "tiger"?

Hi Tikay, not quite that simple buy you almost have it in one.

Stems from one of my other interests Tai Chi which I have been doing for 20 years or so.

What else could the poker alias of a Tai Chi enthusiast born in the year of the Tiger with a name Garry be?

    Tai-gar

Hi, sorry if this question has already been asked.

If someone wins satellites to both DAY1A and DAY1B, and they make Day 2 at the first attempt, can they play DAY1B and carry their biggest stack forward?

    Cheers,

    Graham

    Hi Graham,
Go to promotions SPT Manchester and open event schedule, it clearly states that you can take biggest stack through to day 2
    Cheers

    @StayOrGo

Just to reiterate what Dollie wrote, several players at SPT Manchester survived Day 1A & then played Day 1B, with a view to taking their largest stack through.

Memory might be playing tricks, but think at least one player had 180,000 at end of 1A & then played 1B.

Think both @pompeynic & Craig did this.

Which reminds me, not seen pompeynic here since pre Xmas, hope he is OK.

    Hi all.

Just wanted to say, I'm really looking forward to meeting the many Sky Poker players that I have had dealings with over the last few years, be it Poker, Jackpot Syndicate or Charity Stuff.

I consider many of you friends, some I have met face to face and some that I have not, so I look forward to us all meeting up in the flesh.

I have played a few big buy in live tournaments recently and have a few more coming up after SPT. So it's all been quite serious, but I am looking forward to "letting go a bit" at the SPT in Manchester.

With this in mind, I have a solid strategy for DAY1A. So what is this new strategy, you may ask? Simple

"GET WASTED AND TRY HARDER ON DAY1B!"

OK, I admit, it may not be the best Poker strategy in the world, but I'm sure it will be fun!

If anyone wishes to join me in this well thought out strategy, I'll be buying shots all day for those on my table, that wish to participate! Or at least until I bust.

I will also be buying drinks for the night, to whoever busts me, just to show there is no hard feelings!

Really looking forward to THE CLASH in MANCHESTER!

I'm ready to PARTY HARD, like these guys, ARE YOU?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGIFublvDes

Anyone on my wave length, post here, and I'll look out for you!

    GL GUYS!

    Graham

    Sounds good Steve.

I am going to plan to get there for 2.45pm (sure they'll let me check in, but if not I'll wait until 3.00pm) Then get taxi for about 3.15pm? Does that work for you?

Message me your phone number if you like mate, and I'll call/text you when I get there

    @StayOrGo

    Morning Graham,

Will you be doing your "One Hand At A Time" style Tournament Report again, as you did previously?

Must have been very time consuming, but it was immensely popular.

    Hi TK.

Yes I can do something similar, but I'll probably just keep it to the top 5 most interesting hands, rather than everyone I am involved in.

That way, I can enjoy myself. :=)

In fact, as it's a lot of work to do all of them, so why don't we get as many people as possible to do 5 and explain what their thought processes were.

Spread the load, so to speak.

It would add a bit of variety and probably would come up with some interesting spots.

I can start the ball rolling by posting my top 5 from Day1A on Friday night/Saturday morning (hangover permitting) and people can follow the format.

Who's up for doing their 5 most interesting hands from SPT MANCHESTER?

I recommend stepping away from the table as soon as the hand in question finishes and recording what happened, while it's still fresh in your mind, with as much info as possible, so you don't forget later.

With the five hands, try and get a mix of ones you won and lost, played well/played badly, particularly awkward spots etc. Remember, learning comes before ego, so one's where you were unsure etc are good, rather than 5 successful hero calls. (One or two hero calls or successful bluffs are fine, as long as you explain the reason why you acted as you did)

In fact in the five you could have

    One good bluff
    One failed bluff
    One good call
    One bad call
    One good value bet

Or replace one or two of the above with adhoc ones of your choice. (Most interesting, several ways to play it etc), it doesn't have to be too rigid, the above are just ideas.

If people want my advice/opinion on hands they post, I will be happy to comment. Although I'd need quite a lot of detail, otherwise most answers to tricky spots will be, "IT DEPENDS."

The type of info you need to record are:

STACK SIZES (NUMBER OF BIG BLINDS)
    BLIND LEVELS
    TABLE POSITIONS
PLAYER STYLES (TRY TO GAUGE HOW OFTEN THEY'VE BEEN RAISING CALLING/FOLDING ETC)
    TABLE IMAGE (YOURS AND THEIRS)
    RAISE SIZES
    PRE FLOP ACTIONS
ACTION DOWN THE STREETS (IF APPLICABLE)
TRY TO RECORD THE EXACT FLOP ETC AND YOUR EXACT HAND
RECORD TURN AND RIVER (IF APPLICABLE)
IF YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT VPIP, PFR, 3BET, FOLD TO 3BET are and know how to gauge the percentages of these for you and your opponent, then that info would be useful.

    GL all!
