Hi Stevey, Just wondering if your router is close enough to your computer, sometimes even people moving about affects mine, maybe a wired connection is the only way to go?
  • steveyseesteveysee Member Posts: 74
i have wired connection, playing other sites at same time, no problems on those.

I have notes on Rattious, they are quite descriptive and colourful.

I don't know if this is the same problem but I sometimes (often) have the same problem, but if you are playing close attention to the table then actually your hand does appear, albeit very briefly, before disappearing, but it will then reappear if you bet. This has sometimes helped me from missing out on a good hand but has also cost me occasionally when I bet and then realise I have not read my hand correctly.

    Hi Stevey,

If anything relevant to Technical or Support is Posted, I pass it to them.

In effect, I act as unofficial first line of support on the Forum, so if you don't get an answer, it's down to me. You can always, of course, contact Customer Care.

I my have read your first question incorrectly, but it struck me as rhetorical. I don't know the answer, to be honest, but now that the decision has been made - as widely & repeatedly mentioned on this Forum by me - to have a completely new set of software later this year, the amount of resource allocated to resolving current glitches is limited, for obvious reasons.

Apologies for not replying earlier, but as I said, it struck me as rhetorical. My bad.

Any clues on what this involves and possible timescales. Is it a complete overhaul or a tinkering.

No, no clue on timescales. There IS a target date, but I don't have permission to make it known yet.

It's very possible that at the next SPT &/or the one after, players will be able to look at it & "have a play" though.

It's neither a "complete overhaul" or "tinkering" - it's a clean sheet of paper jobbie, all nice & shiny new.

Can you give us the a clue to the month?
Does it begin with a vowel or consonant ?

Yup, it begins with either a vowel or a consonant.

The 'Network Error' message (which equates to a full crash is imminent) has been a constant feature of the software since I've been playing here. It seem to correlate to multi-tabling - the more you're on, the sooner you'll see it. I play cash games mostly so it has inadvertently become my cue to take a short break. If you're playing MTT's one cunning tip might be to restart the client at each 5 minute break. This seems to reset the Network Error 'countdown' making it less likely to pop up during a frustratingly crucial moment.

Whilst it's good to hear something completely new is in the pipeline, I do find myself slightly apprehensive about it (better the devil you know and all that). I just hope it's not the start of a radical new direction for the site - anonymous tables, removal of player notes, fast fold (zoom) cash games... etc.

I'm not worried at all, not even slightly...

I am interested to see if ante's are going to be introduced though and then, ultimately, how this may (or may not) affect those players who have perhaps only played exclusively on Sky for a number of years (or who play very little elsewhere).
