HAVE CHANGED mISTY'S ON NAPS SHEET AS PER HIS POST ABOVE IE PENNYWELL REPLACES HIS NR

Cheers V........ I was rushing to get out and back before racing started.

Unlucky with the Jackpot...... couldn't have picked that one in a 'Month of Sundays'. I'm not having much luck either......I've backed :-

ROUERGATE (e/w @ 7/1)....... 1.00pm .... FELL last when could well have won
    LYGON ROCK (10/3).............. 2.35pm.....2nd to 100/1 shot
    + MASTER TRADESMAN (e/w @ 25/1).......5th

at least I've won most of it back with HAPPY DIVA and got PENNYWELL (e/w @ 13/2)still to come
no probs mate, pity Master Tradesman couldnt hold for a place at least . well done with your winner, couldnt miss that with form with Ms Dubois
Yeh, the CALL ME SID upset didn't do my bet here any favours either:

    Bet Details Date/Time Stake Return
    Happy Diva @ 6/5
    Actinpieces @ 3/1
    Lygon Rock @ 5/2
    Gamain @ 11/4
    Lucky 15, 15 bets * £3.00
    18/01/2018 12:42:55 45.00

Got money back anyway and still would be a decent return if GAMAIN can win.
Good luck with the bet G although I had better warn you I am on Gamain as well, although napped it last week and avoided today so bound to win for you.

    Jackpot left

    half unit CRUCIAL ROLE
    1 X GAMAIN
    1 X THE SWEENEY

    1.00: SECRET ESCAPE.....NR
    1.30: HAPPY DIVA
    2.35: LYGON ROCK
    3.45: PENNYWELL

    (on Sheets)

Gutted R.JOHNSON rode PENNYWELL and not CRUCIAL ROLE. I was tossing-up between the two and coz JOHNSON rides for both stables (both of which are in form at the minute), I decided to NAP PENNYWELL..... sigh.

Sack the agent I say !!!

    NB
always worth following R.JOHNSON on a H.DALY trained horse when his horses are running well btw

Just read an interesting article in the Racing Post.

Starting today, trainers have to declare "Wind Operations".

The following have had a wind op since their last run:

Dancing Amy (Lucinda Russell) 1.45 Musselburgh
    Alberobello (Nicky Martin) 3.20 Chepstow
Dr Hooves (Lucinda Russell) 4.00 Musselburgh
    Wimpole (Michael Scudamore) 4.00 Musselburgh

Apparently if a horse "makes a noise" a wind op will nearly always improve it's form, if it didn't previously "make a noise", it sometimes does, sometimes doesn't

This info has never been made available to the public until today. From what I can tell, in the racing post it shows a lower case "w" after the horses name and on sporting life the capital letters WS are used.

Worth noting how they get on, and if they really do improve.

Although initial fines aren't very severe, they shouldn't get away with it for too long: (unless they have a crooked vet)

For offences, there will be a first fine of £650, a second fine of £1,300, and then referral to BHA from the third offence onwards.

    see G.'s post above .....

with regards this, it certainly is more info for us punters, but I heard Mark Johnston (who I have huge respect for, particularly as he is a qualified Vet. originally) talking about this....(making wind-ops public), and he reckoned in all his time it has only improved around 10% of the horses he's trained, and even then he thought they may have improved themselves anyway.

Certainly it seems to improve a lot of Paul Nicholls horses (initially) so it might work better for Jumpers or longer distance races, but it will be defo worth monitering

Yes I take your point, from what I can glean, and what makes sense, is that it often improves horses that "needed" a wind op, but most don't need them, and they're just trying something different.

I am out all day tomorrow, but hope to be back after the school run at about 4.30pm, so will take a look at perm structures tonight and try and do some prep work.

Although I will need to make changes according to what NAPS/REMOVERS and MARKET MOVERS come through.

I have 4 NAP's in my mind at the moment, so I will come up with my final three when I get in at 4.30pm.

    GL all!

The info is definitely a help and earlier on in the jumps season I got on a horse which I found out had a wind op and it ran up a treble. Cant remember name now. Also on Opening show they were talking about it and same kind of thing Mark Johnstone said came up, it doesnt amprove all of them so backing them all first time after op might not be as lucrative as we think. However,

If the horse is a handicapper might be useful to follow if it wins first time after the op as it suggests the horse has improved for it and should be ahead of handicapper for couple of races after.

Just gone back in the history of my posts, horse was

    DOUBLE TREASURE

three on the bounce before handicapper caught up with it.

Just had a look at the four horses mentioned and it doesnt look like any of the ops is an attempt to get ahead of handicapper. As I said they could be very interesting if they have them just before there first outing in a handicap.

    Will watch with interest
