Uhuru Kenyatta told May he was pleased she had “found time” to visit and went on to struggle to remember Boris Johnson’s surname at the culmination of a three-day trip aimed at boosting Britain’s trade and diplomatic presence in the country.
The president began proceedings by saying he was glad May had “honoured our invitation to come and see for yourself our country and continent that has changed in the last nearly four decades since a UK prime minister visited”.

Watch his BBC interview here… UPDATE: It turns out Boris gave not two but three interviews in the same room which have all gone out at the same time today – ITV’s Robert Peston has got in on the act too.
Sajid Javid told a really heartwarming story at the Tory Party Conference yesterday. The story referred to how his father emigrated from Pakistan to become a bus driver in the UK, and the fact that he had achieved such high office. The son of a Pakistani bus driver becoming Home Secretary. A fairy tale. Yet one thing he didn't mention is that if the new Home Office rules announced this week, were in place at the time, he wouldn't have got in.
Boris Johnson's popularity slumps to its lowest ever level, poll finds
But it would appear that his stance, while gaining column inches and winning fans among Tory hard Brexiteers, has failed to win over the public at large
Although the proportion of people who view him favourably has remained virtually unchanged – going from 18% in September 2017 to 19% today – the percentage with an unfavourable view of him has increased from 30% to 46%.
Another Tory Brexiteer, Jacob Rees-Mogg, also took a battering in the poll, seeing his popularity wane in recent weeks.
Sajid Javid lambasted for 'Asian paedophiles' tweet
The home secretary, Sajid Javid, has been rebuked by MPs and human rights campaigners for tweeting about “Asian paedophiles”. Javid highlighted the case of a grooming gang in Huddersfield that raped and abused girls as young as 11. The group of men were found guilty on Friday of more than 120 offences against 15 girls.
These sick Asian paedophiles are finally facing justice. I want to commend the bravery of the victims. For too long, they were ignored. Not on my watch. There will be no no-go areas
