Annoying pop up message in game...."Sunday major now starting"

Do we really need to have it pop up in the middle of the table? It doesn't even disappear...we have to click "OK" or "X". I had 10 tables open but only playing 1 or 2. I can only imagine how annoying it is to have to close every pop up on every table when playing on multiple tables.

Maybe just keeping the alert in the chat box like it normally is would be better.

Am playing right now, will reply later.

But basically, yes, it's really bad when multi tabling and all the tables disappear under the pop ups, and each one has to be clicked.

    No problem Tikay. Goodluck.

Have finished playing now, so can reply more easily.

I have to agree, it certainly activated my irritation register.

I'll speak to the Office tomorrow & ask if they will consider not using those again.

PS - as poker players, it's amazing how intolerant we (me included) are. OK, each one needed clicking, but don't think we should lose our sense of perspective.

Anyway, the Sunday Major made £16,200, so that's good. ;)

    Night all.

Cheers Tikay. Not many have posted here but I’m sure it annoyed quite a few. Just thought I would mention it so someojenfromy Sky could do something about it and was aware of it.

    PS nice prizepool! Who won??

Yes, I'm sure it did annoy a few. From my perspective, thinking back on it, it was not having to click all those boxes so I could see the table - that took barely a second, 2 at tops - but it sort of disturbed my equilibrium, burst my little bubble of focus & concentration. It's like when some random advert pops up on my smartphone - it feels so intrusive, "this is my personal space, **** off" sorta thing.

And then I started thinking, oh ****, its going to kick off on the Forum again, (it had not been a great day here one way & another), and I'm going to have to monitor the forum whilst playing, which always means I lose my poker playing focus, such as it is.

First world problems of the highest order, eh?

You were perfectly entitled to make everyone aware, no question. Everyone should feel free to report these things.

Anyway, yes, I will certainly ensure the Office are aware of the situation.

    "PS nice prizepool! Who won??"

TWO question marks? Does that mean it's a REALLY important question, one wonders? ;)

The Sunday Major Final Table was, unsurprisingly, a tough one.

@Ramo888 took it down & collected around £4,500, easily his best result here.

2nd was the scarily good @heddoh18 followed by @Div1 also for his (her?) best ever result here.

    4th, 5th & 6th were, respectively, @MRBLEWPIE WPIE - perhaps my favourite alias on here - @HATTERBOY & @kwd

Due to it being the first "big" MTT of 2018 on Sky Poker, they all collected those rather lovely spinning star things on Sharky, too, for "most scheduled profit, 2018". Wonder how many of those 6 will be up there at the end of 2018?

I got carried away with the “?” I don’t really know why haha! Thanks for the update Tikay.

I agree it took your concentration away. Also took you being able to see the cards of the hands you were in:).

Have a good day, great result for Sunday major.

The Office got back to me on this - they acknowledged it should not have happened, & was not by design.

    Apologies.

These sort of comms are NOT done by the Poker Team, another Department handles them.

For those who just play poker here, its hard to imagine the volume of comms that SB&G as a whole send daily. There must be, literally, hundreds, across the whole of SB&G, so it gets quite complicated, & so yeah, now & then, wires get a bit crossed.
