South Asians are no more likely than anyone else to be paedophiles, on available information. However, what is clear is that, at least some 20 or so years ago, there was a major difference between White and South Asians in this regard.
The majority of White paedophiles act alone. The majority were themselves abused as children. The majority act alone, and target people they know.
There were (and maybe still are) groups of South Asians grooming particularly vulnerable local kids. For a whole variety of reasons. One of which is that they perceive we place no value on these poor kids-which, sadly, has often been true. It has also been true that underpaid, overworked Social Care Departments have shamefully, on occasion, failed to open the "extra work box" that often accompanies allegations relating to race.
Instead of concentrating on the race of grooming gangs, it would be a lot better to protect the targets of such gangs.
I don't care what colour a child abuser is. I don't care whether they act alone, or in gangs. I just want them all stopped. White, brown, purple with pink stripes. All the same. Not to treat one race's scum different to anyone else's.
