One man's "spot on" is another man's "crazed loon, who does not live in the real world".
Let's take a few points this guy raises.
1. There is always a balance between personal freedoms, and personal protection. A balance. Not doing absolutely everything the state wants you to do. But also, other people generally not doing things that endanger you. So-for example-do you believe someone else has the right to stand next to you in the supermarket, when they know they have a potentially fatal communicable disease? Because I always hear lots about the rights of the individual. But never the reverse.
2. The Big Pharma bit. I don't like Big Pharma. Never have. Never will. But, probably more than any other industry, they are in it for the money. People seriously expect them to drop whatever they are doing that is making them squillions, invest billions in a cure that may turn out not to be necessary and cost them billions (like Bird flu), take loads of financial risks, and do this for no reward? Is he nuts? Always love it when some millionaire living a privileged lifestyle tells other people not to make money. While getting money via boosting his profile online
3. There are lots of rich people who want to get richer. Bill Gates is not 1 of them. He is so rich his priority is no longer making money. Unlike 99% of the people who want to fleece us. Why do people focus on one of the few people who doesn't want to fleece us? I'm sure he wants to go down in history as some sort of saviour, but he is actually less dangerous to you and me than just about everyone else involved.

And it's often forgotten or ignored that he's giving away his entire personal fortune to philanthropic causes, as is Warren Buffett. And yet he gets dog's abuse from a small section of society.
