The main advantages of COVID-19 PCR test are its accuracy and reliability. It is the most accurate test available for COVID-19 detection.
Are there downsides to a COVID-19 PCR test?
Because the test is able to detect very small amounts of virus material, it can continue to detect fragments of SARS-CoV-2 virus even after you’ve recovered from COVID-19 and are no longer contagious. So you may continue to test positive if you have had COVID-19 in the distant past, even though you can’t spread the SARS-CoV-2 virus to others."
A PCR test is amplifying samples through repetitive cycles. The lower the virus concentration in the sample, the more cycles are needed to achieve a positive result. Many US labs work with 35 to 45 cycles, while many European labs work with 30 to 40 cycles.
The research group of French professor Didier Raoult has recently shown that at a cycle threshold (ct) of 25, about 70% of samples remained positive in cell culture (i.e. were infectious); at a ct of 30, 20% of samples remained positive; at a ct of 35, 3% of samples remained positive; and at a ct above 35, no sample remained positive (infectious) in cell culture (see diagram).
This means that if a person gets a “positive” PCR test result at a cycle threshold of 35 or higher (as applied in most US labs and many European labs), the chance that the person is infectious is less than 3%. The chance that the person received a “false positive” result is 97% or higher.
@chilling said: Nov, Dec,2019. Hospitals were closed to visitors because of a “ novel “ virus. My local hospital too. Long before the starting pistol was fired.
I think you meant Norovirus chilling, you might want to delete that....oh....
"Controversy leading to conspiracy theories regarding "SARS-CoV-2 deployment" at the Wuhan Games had also lingered regarding a "coronavirus pandemic dress rehearsal" staged in New York City on 18 October 2019, the same day as the start of the 7th CISM Military World Games in Wuhan, at an event called "Event 201", which was sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the CIA, among others, and simulated a novel zoonotic coronavirus that had been transmitted from bats, to pigs, onto humans, with no prospect of a vaccine within a year, and causing 65-million deaths worldwide at the 18-month point"
A friend had her 97 year old mother come out of hospital after 15days. Diagnosis, Covid. A friends brother, an addict, into hospital with breathing trouble. Find out after 3 blood transfusions that he has an infection on his heart. In for three months, last two weeks caught Covid ( apparently). Been at home for two months waiting for a heart op. A friend who worked in a hotel in Birmingham, was in her words, ‘ never been so ill in my life’, In Dec 2019. You stick to you norro , mumsie.

Good luck in getting the conspiracy theory nutjobs to believe that. Finger-pointing is their speciality act.

Let’s do some R and D on something we don’t know anything about.
Where do we start?
Some have their views, others have theirs. Let’s see how it pans out. Can’t say fairer than that.
'Disease X' refers to any pathogen that may cause human disease, the R and D is how we we as a race would deal with such an outbreak......ffs
SMH - its not an actual known priority disease

The more cycles, the more amplification producing false positives:

Typical from the vaxer nut job .
It appears to be, but I was hoping you could clarify, hence me asking the question.
Take a screenshot, tidy it up, then delete the original.

Best stick with Auntie Beeb, the brainwashing is nearly complete.
Straight to the point then. Stay Alert.
