Yeah at least the monday tournaments are nice and cheap so won't do much damage to the bankroll. Got any hands you want to share on here from tonights games? or were they all pretty standard spots?
I've dabbled in cash from time to time myself. Enjoy MTT's more but I understand the variance can be tough to deal with. I'm on a £350 downswing myself atm lol.
Hope you have some better success at the cash tables tonight Myna!
In all seriousness I am a cash game player now predominantly anyway (been a couple of weeks now since I was converted)... I s'pose I'll still turn up on Mondays though if only for the lolz
I would strongly recommend you give cash a shot ads, much lower variance than this MTT nonsense (wow, I'm turning into Duesenberg ) Ok you won't win as much in a session as you can from MTT's but you will have more winning than losing days and make steady profit over all.
I bet @MattBates was fist pumping as he read this .
So this was a key one. My pre flop sizing was too small for starters (but not terrible). My post flop decisions were based on opponent liking to raise and call particularly light pre and often only having 2 or 3 outs against my Queens and not 6. I don't expect him to float me with his Ax/Kx but I do expect him to often turn them into bluffs when I check (especially if I check flop and turn) and I also expect him to bet his draws himself so I don't need to worry about giving free cards. This way I get value from his bluffs AND draws and I get him to value own himself with worse made hands (under pairs) that may fold to a c bet given how strong a c bet would look here. My line also protects me when I have AK/AQ here and these are hands I will also choose to play this way in this spot against opponent. The plan is nearly always to check-call down when I take this line of course. I will get outdrawn sometimes but I will get max value from bluffs that are drawing extremely thin (sometimes dead) and worse made hands that may fold on earlier streets if I go bet-bet-bet. I know that Dues will say this is fancy play syndrome and I should just be betting the hand for value myself and looking to stack off against "all the hands he can call down with on this wet board"
I'm c-betting that board so much as a semi bluff/pure bluff that think I'm 100% c-betting against these types of opponents especially with a hand as relatively vulnerable as QQ. I know you said he stabs a lot but he only did here when he picked up a decent amount of equity which suggests he doesn't just randomly spew it off. Anyway, point is I'm betting 100% here with QQ and getting value from a load of hands, It's also not a complete disaster if he does fold
I don't have a particularly high c-bet frequency relative to field though- I know some players are c betting close to 100% with range in these spots... so the line is also in keeping with my overall strategy. I would rather bet my sets, JJ and strong draws and then hands with little equity or not great showdown value that I might have (some wheel aces and KQ/QJs) and use some over pairs to protect my AK/AQ and other hands that will be looking to pot control.
Bit of a strange hand where I uncharacteristically got out of line. It might just be terrible. Had played with opponent for about an hour, seemed fairly strong and he was pretty snug. Was considering river shove as it looked so much like a block bet

Welcome home Myna .
Played okay, not at my best but definitely didn't make any huge mistakes.
I'll keep an eye out on the tournaments for Team ADS Deep runs
