There was a fascinating discussion about the wonders & joys (?) of Subbuteo yesterday.

What toy or game used to ring your bell?

Action Man?

Chopper Bike?

Rubiks Cube?

Monopoly?

Spectrum Computer?

Come on, who is gonna get us started?

We had this set up in our loft, we had to squeeze through a door in a cupboard and crawl under the window to get to the space.

We hit on the idea of putting fairy liquid on the corners to make the cars slide round the bend rather than take off into the rafters.

Most of the fun was trying to figure out how to make interesting tracks without a Man City budget.....

Already documented a few of my faves on another thread.

But this is another one, remember buying it at a jumble sale so absolute bargain and hours of fun...

Looks like it is still on the market too...

Blimey I'd forgotten about that game. These days the snowflakes would soil themselves seeing that.

This kept me busy for ages in the 80s. Always a bit frustrating how the table wouldn't be perfectly level, and the balls bounced out of the pockets very easily.

Remember dreaming of playing on a 'proper' full-sized table.

Barry had got Steve doing endorsements :)

I had the Arnold Palmer game- being very young, I spent most of the time just trying to whack it as hard as possible.
And Escape from Colditz- if my memory is correct (maybe not), tunnelling or using the staff car were my favourite methods.

    Happy days.
