Hi all let me tell you a little about myself.I am a consistently losing player.I have read articles bought a couple of books watched numerous instruction videos but it make no difference. But at the end of the day I still love the game.I never go stupid as I no my limitations.Iv tried other sites but have to say I always come back to sky as I like the fact you play in £'s and not $'s.I discovered playing live a few years ago and as I live not far from brighton I have the choice of a few casinos to play in,my favourite being Grovesnor as they have a £27 1 rebuy 1add on that suits me down to the ground. So we have ascertained I love playing poker I love playing live I love sky and I don't live far from brighton. So the sky poker tour should suit me down to the ground and in august there at the rendezvous in Brighton well happy days but the one stumbling block is I cant justify the £220 buy in.Yes I no you can satellite in but as stated earlier as a consistently losing player the only way that's going to happen is if I get the most amazing run of cards and get paid off.So I was wondering for those of us that arn't phil ivey with a bank roll to match how about running a side event along side the main with say a £70 or £80 buy in for us grinders who still love to play with like minded people.I have played in a couple of APAT events and they have run side events along side main events very successfully.

I think that for the last couple of SPTs in Manchester, the Poker area isn't really big enough to have room for both the main event and a side event, and they sure as helll* won't move the slots and table games to make room for a side event because that doesn't make business sense.
*(Okay, not sure why that's filtered...)
Therefore, I don't think the lack of Manchester side events necessarily means there won't be anything in Brighton. I haven't been to Rendezvous or Brighton since the last SPT there in 2012, but I remember it being pretty spacious, far more than 235 in Manchester.
One of the problems with side events is that you have to start them late enough for people to have busted the main to free up some tables, which means late reg has to finish, they have to have seated all the alternates that want to play, and then 2-3 tables worth of players need to have gone busto.
Then players also want to finish at a sensible time so that they can leave the casino before sunrise, check out of hotels on time to be able to drive home the next day, and so on. So you inevitably end up with something with a £50 hyper turbo with like 15 minute blinds that everyone moans about because the structure is bad.
It's tough to make not only a side event within the limitations of what the casino can provide, but also without detracting from the main event, or providing a poor experience and poor value for money to customers in terms of time spent at the table for their buyin.
The problem with Manchester is they have room for a dozen or so 10 seat tables, and they have 150+ players wanting to play on each day. By the time all the alternates have been seated, late reg closes, then there's 3 tables spare to run a side event, it's too late to run a side event with any decent structure. Then usually the casinos wanna open cash tables as well.
I remember one side event at Broadway in Birmingham 2013, where everyone was saying they made the side event the night before way too deep stacked, so it ended with something stupid like a 7/8 way chop at about 5am.
I think Rendezvous is fairly well equipped to deal with running a side event - It's a decent sized venue from what I can recall, so starting a side event around 8-9pm might be reasonable, depending when the normal day 1s start. I have no idea if Sky wants to run side events for SPTs or not, but Rendezvous is somewhere it could work.
I also know there used to be a G Casino (?) a mile or two along the seafront from Rendezvous, so if there's no side event and that casino is still there, you might be able to convince a few people who busted/played the other Day 1/aren't playing the SPT to go down there and play the nightly MTT, as a de facto side event.
