The non poker kind..

I had a lovely Sunday with my family; the usual chatter which instantly devolved into gutter dwelling topics and revelations that ought to be known to anyone else. I remember a lot of laughter, making my niece and nephew laugh til they couldn't breathe; my dad turned the same shade as his red t-shirt (something about a pencil case and a willy entrance), my sister's BF gagged at one point when I regaled at the table, during dinner, about how the dog had been caught eating ManCub's vomit when he was ill last week, I then stuffed a piece of chocolate log the size of my fist into my mouth in one go after my mother insisted I 'shove it in my gob' :D Not being one to turn down a challenge I did just that much to everyone's horror/glee.

Before all the hilarity I was able to have my mum to myself, which is very rare, and I was telling her all about the fun I have been having playing Poker and getting involved on the forum, how pleased I have been with my performance, my placements in tourneys etc. I was enthused and excited to tell her...... her response was not unexpected though and instead of joining in with the excitement she calmly inquired as to whether I play for money, am I addicted to gambling, insisted I not become addicted to gambling and topped this all off by announcing that she has no idea how to play, what poker is about, or why I play etc. She was totally bemused and was politely interested just because it was me.

So I wondered can this statement be true: Our times on Sky Poker do not translate to the non-poker kind and as such what happens on Sky Poker stays on Sky Poker?
Or is it the way I tell em'?
