It all depends on whether they want to get rid of him.
It has the potential to be gross misconduct (and thus summary dismissal), but it may be that they decide that he is worth keeping despite this act. Suspect if he stays it will be a Final Written Warning....
Whatever happens he's not going to starve, personally i think its how well he is liked behind the scenes although it hard to imagine in this day and age that some pressure group won't come forward to pile the pressure on him. Watching him on Sky news he does genuinely seem to be sorry for his actions
For footballer v footballer spitting is considered the worst a player can do and also carries a 6 game ban whereas violent conduct only carries a 3 game ban (unless it's a particularly extreme example).
I think the fact that is was filmed and a 14 year old girl was the victim and it's game over for Jamie at sky sports.
My guess he will be back in some capacity - probably on Talk Sport they seem to take on big name cast offs (Gray, Keyes, Barton).
I would get shot of him. It isn't crime of the century or anything but it is a disgusting way to handle yourself. I cannot understand why Sky/anyone would want to have their brand associated with him.
Company has to follow employment disciplinary rules or he could claim unfair dismissal. He should have manned up and offered his resignation up front, not to do so speaks volumes as to his character. He's the Author of his own fate and joins the bad boys of football.
Agreed although I think the spitting on someone already spoke volumes about his character. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Road Rage; Weapon was spit.
Begs the Question, if he lived in (gun culture capital ) would he have shot them.
