Review of UKOPS Day 3 (Saturday)

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 174,745

Good morning to those of you who are still managing to plough through these daily reports.

Rotten weather again yesterday, which was as predictable as Man City winning yet again (they did), Joshua beating Parker (he did) or @hhyftrftdr having salad for lunch, dinner & tea (check the date).

It was just as predictable that someone would come on the Forum & suggest Sky Poker is rigged because he lost a hand, but yesterday's was pretty impressive - a chap suggested the site was rigged because he flopped the nut flush but lost on a paired board in PLO. Read that again. A paired board in PLO, & his flush was no good. Who'd have thought?

Amazing thing, online poker. People outdraw others & don't say a word, or even have a chirp - "too many outs to pass, mate". Lose the hand & the site is rigged. Who or what do they blame if they miss the last bus, or Tesco are out of bananas? The mind truly boggles.

Anyway, let's get started, lots to go through today.

    UKOPS 15, 6.30pm Saturday, £11 entry £2,000 Guaranteed Turbo Bounty Hunter

    The story so far - 14 UKOPS Events, 14 Guarantees beaten. The weather remained miserable, the best (TV) could offer was Ant & Dec minus one of the duo - I have no idea which one was missing, & both seem equally bland & banal to me - so all was set fair to continue the streak of beaten Guarantees. Right?

    Wrong, the evening's opener, needing 200, came in 18 shy at 182, which is about 10%. How so? I blame the earlier (6.30pm) start than usual. The rest will be OK, trust me.

    The real reason might be that by a quirk of scheduling a £5 BH kicked off at exactly the same time & actually got MORE runners than the £10 UKOPS version. So the good news is we can blame @Sky __James.

    @MAXALLY earns his first mention of this UKOPS with a 16th place finish, but the player in 15th intrigues if only because of the curious alias - @PVFC_fan which does rather sound like some sexual perversion, but in fact refers Stoke's finest football team.

    The nicely profitable @gez_bear final table bubbled.

    First to depart the Final was @Arrogant, who less than 2 weeks ago collected over £4,000 for winning the Sunday Major.

    There was another cash (5th) for @peiratis88, with @HAMSTER78 4th. Piece of Sky Poker trivia for you now - did you know that there are no less than 25 players on Sky Poker with an alias that begins with "Hamster"? Are you impressed by that? Thought not.

    @GARETH26 was 3rd, with @burger306 the runner-up.

    The winner - & securing his best ever result on Sky Poker, was @silllymid, who we can reasonably assume is a cricket fan. Well done Mr Silly.

    UKOPS 16, 7pm Saturday, £22 entry £3,000 Guaranteed Bounty Hunter

    This is the event that usually opens UKOPS proceedings each night, & as expected it sailed over Guarantee by 10%.

    Down in 29th was a real Sky Poker blast from the past in @Uzi_lover. He has only just returned to Sky Poker, but as long ago as 2009 he was amongst the biggest MTT winners on the site.

    In 24th was @CaptHard - best not speculate on that alias - & he was a spot behind @burger306 who was runner-up in the evening's opener.

    In 20th, another fine effort by @tom_mull, and in 13th was Man-Of-The-Moment @Sharki0 who secured a brace of UKOPS wins on Day 2.

    16th went to @LARSON7 who then put up an April Fools Day thread, & in 10th was the only person who fell for it, the usually astute & erudite @Duesenberg.

    @BACKFOOT was first to depart the final, followed by @SAMCRO_TM, @TheFLUSH, @Viking25, with @Shayealf the runner-up.

    The win went to the stunningly gifted @devil_tear who has an ROI in excess of 50% over a sample size north of 5,000. Impressive stuff.

    "Devil Tear" is actually a place in Nusa Lembongan, & if you knew that without referencing google, you are a good deal more clever than me. In fact I don't even bali know where Nusa Lembongan is.

    UKOPS 17, 7.30pm Saturday, £22 entry £1,000 Guaranteed PLO

    Huh, PLO.

    Wonder if there were any stunning shocks, such as a flush or straight being no good on a paired board?

    The Guarantee was covered, but only by a short-head (2%), getting 51 when 50 were needed. Never in doubt.

    @EvilPingu was the bubble-bubble, & @weecheez1 the bubble, worthy of mention only because both are good guys but have done zilch so far in this UKOPS renewal.

    Another fine effort (8th) by @tom_mull, with the elderly PLO8 DYM specialist @eon1961 in 7th. Eon recently had a 17 game winning streak at PLO8 DYM's, but managed 3 consecutive losses yesterday, which is about as likely as @Haysie winning a UKOPS event.

    @Super_Oli was first to bust the Final, followed by the fearsome @ash066pts who is having a great UKOPS, & in 4th place was the likeable Scot @dragon1964.

    3rd went to @JMC1975 with @Lovey87 the runner-up. The bookies probably made @Lovey87 the favourite for this, he plays a lot of HU PLO, & he was 4th in the UKOPS PLO8 on Day One.

    Winner was @lewjax79 of whom I know very little, except that he's had a decent week as he also took down a tenner BH earlier in the week, as well as an itsy-bitsy £5 PLO affair. Good player, very good player.

    UKOPS 18, 8pm Saturday, £110 entry £15,000 Guaranteed Bounty Hunter

    Bit of a slap round the chops to see this one miss Guarantee by 9 runners. I blame @Sky__James.

    Mini money in 35th for @MAXALLY which will cheer him up before Stoke get turned over by Arsenal this afternoon, (well that's the hope).

    It was unlucky 13th for @LmfaoAllin a spot behind @GRANDAD49 who was, in turn, just behind @IrishRose.

    Near-misses for @SOLACK in 8th & UKOPS hotshot @RAKKKI in 7th.

    5th went to @Mattsmum (mother of Mr Bates?), & 4th to @tonyglfc. GLFC, surely not Garston Ladies Football Club?

    3rd went to @mags81 with @Georgeyboy the runner-up.

    Winner @ChIpSiSbk does not play many MTT's here, but from a small sample size has some tasty results, including 3rd in the Sunday Major a fortnight back, 2nd in the Avenger the previous week, 5th in Marksman in late Feb, and a win in Gold Rush in January.

    Add to all that the near £3,000 he collected last night & he's doing pretty well I'd say, & that's before he gets to chirp to his mates with one of these;

    UKOPS 19, 8.30pm Saturday, £5.50 entry £2,500 Guaranteed Mini Bounty Hunter

    553 hopefuls, so ahead of Guarantee by a healthy 10%.

    All-round good guy & partner of Jen Mason @Catsnap was 14th.

    image

    First to depart the final was @vegasman, then a best ever cash for @Sara2001 in 5th place.

    In 4th was probably the class act of the final, @jdsallstar, just behind @fishnc5426 and runner-up @JumboJim33.

    Winner was @streamside who plays a decent volume here & does pretty well.

    UKOPS 20, 9pm Saturday, £22 entry £5,000 Guaranteed Bounty Hunter

    Just 215 entries, needing 250, so the 3rd miss of the night but @Sky__James is safe unless any more UKOPS events tonight miss.

    In 25th was @MrDooWop who only gets mention due to his cheerful alias, and I cba with miserable names or people.

    @devil_tear is running into form with another result here (20th), and there were further UKOPS cashes for @Vskyshark and @dylan07.

    @StayOrGo was 10th & @I8HUbutler who final table bubbled.

    @brucey93, the consistent @gac123 and @ion2018 were 6th, 5th & 4th respectively.

    3rd was @hateful8 who had a fun & very profitable evening, as he won not one, but TWO Bounty Hunters last night, one at 6pm & the other at 10pm.

    Runner-up was @zzyyxx.

    Adding to his UKOPS winnings here in 1st place was @md2k8 who was 3rd in the UKOPS Mini the previous night. Nice work.

    UKOPS 21, 9.30pm Saturday, £11 entry £2,000 Guaranteed Turbo Bounty Hunter

    Another Guarantee missed, & though it was only 12 runners shy, @Sky__James can't afford any other mistakes. I have every confidence in him.

    Further cashes for @devil_tear (20th) @hateful8 (14th) & @Limp2Lose (13th).

    First to depart the final was @rudders07 swiftly followed by @darryn1973 and @Damon8.

    Rangers FC supporter @LARSON7 was 3rd, behind runner-up @Mizroe.

    Collecting his 2nd UKOPS win was @Suarez1984 who in addition to winning UKOPS 21 on this occasion, won UKOPS 22 in the Xmas UKOPS. Well done Suarez.

    UKOPS 22, 10pm Saturday, £55 entry £4,000 Guaranteed Turbo Bounty Hunter

    Needing 80 runners, & perhaps because the Joshua-Parker fight was imminent, this attracted just 67 hopefuls. GG Sky__James.

    There were small returns for @RAKKKI, @SoLack, @EvilPingu, as well as @mcg899 with his impressive game and @Essexphil with his impressive physique.

    Adding to an already impressive haul was @Chlpsisbk in 6th, whilst it was a third Final Table in this series for @ash066pts in 5th.

    @yehnovice1 took 4th, with @OldemH 3rd. Runner-up was the classy @Tedson who does well in the bigger buy-in stuff here.

    No doubt about the winner though, it was @Sharki0 taking his THIRD win of this UKOPS, & in fact he's had a 2nd too, so was just a spot shy of a 4-timer. There's 2 days to go yet, can he complete the 4 or even 5 timer?

    Thanks @goldnballz , appreciated.

    Yes, I was quite surprised to see 5 Missed Guarantees last night.

    Easter is weird, as it does not fall on the same dates each year, so it sort of messes with the Data & makes things hard to predict.
