Multi tabling advice would be appreciated

So I am tweaking my set up and trying to prepare for the micro madness promo. I am attempting to get my set up running smoothly (with little success).

My normal laptop is older than @Tikay10 so I have brought a 1 week old laptop with 4GB DDR3 L memory into the mix and a 3 week old smart TV as my 2nd monitor. I used to play via the browser client as the download client would not work on my old laptop but I have this working on the new one.

I have mass multi tabled on other sites in the past. I would very regularly play 12-15 tables back in the day without any problem, on a rare occasion 15-20+. I have also coped (kinda) with 50+ on one mad occasion when I had to fit 80 SNGs in within an hour. So whilst I do wonder if my mental fortitude is up to the task, given that this was mostly a number of years ago, I have managed to do this previously.

I have just done a couple of dry runs to see how things are working and am meeting some problems. When I get to 10 tables on the download client everything just starts to get clunky. I am having to press buttons numerous times and the software seems to have trouble keeping up. I would like to play at least 15 tables, preferably a little more for a week solid but if things run they way they are just now then this will be a bit of a nightmare. I tried opening the tables via the browser and after around 8-9 tables everything freezes up, worse than the download client.

If anyone can offer any tips they would be much appreciated. Not sure how much this is due to the limitations of my set up or the limitations of the software.

Could do with more info on laptop specs (processor ,graphics etc) to offer more help. One thing to try (as a way of narrowing down) is try to load up all tables onto laptop screen (with second monitor completely disconnected) (I realize it will be a bit mental with overlapping) and see if it still freezes/ is clunky. Thanks.

    PS.

Quick edit just to say it basically may be your 2nd monitor causing issues - this will rule it out

Also 'Device manager' will be handy (with the info under 'Display Adapter' maximized)

    Hey epoker,

    Much appreciate the help.

I experimented with a few things but as I was getting nowhere I took apart my setup and went to my old one. Surprisingly my very old set-up is doing 'fair'. I have connected my old laptop to an 11 year old 50" TV and it is handling 11 tables via the browser client. I am going to give 12-15 tables a whirl when I start for real after midnight.

I also have a couple of tactics for the rake race promo which I am going to keep under wraps for now but that I am hoping will level the playing field at least a little.

Again many thanks for the help, if I fire the new laptop back up I will post the specs as suggested.

I will post the specs of my old one, just for laughs :)

P.S. Anyone care to hazard a guess as to how many points would be required to take down the £0.04-£0.20 rake race leaderboard? 10k? 15k? 20k? more?

*whistles* yep that badboy's one old machine. It certainly rules out one of my theories though that your new machine just lacks the physical capabilities, if this can handle it!

My other idea was that the "graphics drivers" haven't been installed/ not updated (http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us & https://support.amd.com/en-us/download; to give you idea what I'm on about) If its not installed it will revert to"microsoft basic display adapter" which while everything will work it will be clunky as **** (especially with it working 2 screens)

    GL with the grind.

Good luck Mark, my advice would be not to waste your annual leave chasing this as there are some hard core grinders likely moving down from the midstakes for this promo, hope you can prove me wrong though!

Heres a few tables from a past micro madness .

A lot of high caliber players with volume at their disposal did flood down to the spinups.

I get this too with over 8 tables and an extra graphics card thrown in.
