It wasn't the easiest day to find winners, but one Sky Bet punter managed to find all six - his £8.80 stake returning £44,000 after a remarkable and inspired set of selections.
He had a 5p each-way Lucky 63, 5p each-way four-folds, 5p each-way five folds and a 20p each-way accumulator on all six selections...
2:30 Royal Ascot – Main Edition 8/1
3:05 Royal Ascot – Old Persian 6/1
3:40 Royal Ascot – Eqtidaar 12/1 due to BOG (took 11/1)
4:20 Royal Ascot – Alpha Centauri 3/1
5:00 Royal Ascot – Agrotera 11/2 due to BOG (took 5/1)
5:35 Royal Ascot – Dash Of Spice 4/1
Sky Bet spokesman Michael Shinners said: "To find all six winners including the 12/1 Commonwealth Cup winner in various multiples was outstanding punting and he fully deserves a mammoth return off such a small stake."

    I can't reveal any "staff only" stuff, you'll understand, but I am lucky enough to have access to all the Industry News & a lot of stuff that pertains to SB&G, so I'll try & post bits & bobs as & when.

    Here's an interesting piece which was published in "Leeds List" recently. Leeds List is a digital magazine dedicated to all things business related in Leeds.

    https://leeds-list.com/discussion/step-into-the-secret-world-of-sky-betting-gaming-as-they-prepare-to-take-12000-bets-per-minute-for-the-world-cup/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=NL220618&utm_content=NL220618+CID_1c3f50f853a41c7c17a5124ec82f3d36&utm_source

    It's maybe not thrill a minute stuff, but how about this for a stat;

    ".....England matches are incredibly popular – they took 12,000 bets per minute for their first match and 450,000 customers placed a bet in total....."

    I can tell you that for England's next game, v Panama, those numbers were beaten comfortably. I believe that was the highest stakes & uniques ever for a single event on Sky Bet, excepting of course Grand Nationals where the numbers are even bigger. Prior to the World Cup, & again excepting Grand Nationals, the Champions League Final was Sky Bet's biggest ever day for stakes & uniques on a single game.

    Now look again at that number of 12,000 bets per minute at peak times. That equates to 200 bets per second. Can you even begin to imagine that?

    So yes, things go wrong sometimes, & punters get very upset & harangue Customer Care in their hundreds, but when you are managing that volume, its bound to happen, & performance excellence is still very close to 100%, probably 99.8% or whatever.

    With penalties being given ten a penny I had a look at the betting, some bookies are saying "penalty awarded after VAR review" but dont say " a penalty to be awarded " so is this 2 different types of bet, plus when they say 3+ goals, is that 3 goals or more or is it 4 goals or more, is this the bookies trying to confuse an old git like me.

    Italy are to ban all advertisements (TV, Radio, Digital, traditional print media) for gambling.

    The ban includes sponsorship of sports teams (football clubs etc) have a Gambling site as their sponsor.

    Just try to imagine the impact such a law would have in the UK, the effect would be huge.

    3+ goals is 3 goals or more unlike over 3 goals, meaning 4 or more goals. This applies to most bookies including Sky Bet (unless they are Asian markets) but would check with the individual T's & C's for each bookie to be certain. Hope this clears it up for you Rab

    Here's a really interesting tale;

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/07/08/exclusive-teenager-takes-bet365-court-1m-won-horse-races/

    Cliffs if you CBA to read that - A Student invested £24,000 on 12 horses in 4 races & won just over a million quid. The bookie refused to pay, saying that she broke the rules as her stake was provided by a third party.

    It took me longer to find oot what CBA meant than read the story, So a mate lends you a score in the boozers to put a bet on , stoats, go to collect they ask where did you get the cash from, my mate, oh we cant pay you out thats fraud, crazy.

    Ha, sorry about "CBA". Kidz internet speak, it's how I roll.

    The point you make was exactly my thought, too. And on that basis, any bet from someone representing any form of syndicate is technically illegal too.

    I mean, I do see what it's about, the inference being that the Student is "ghosting" for someone or has sold her account to a shrewdie. That's quite common, students sell access to a betting account in return for, say, £500 up front & 10% of any profits. A pal of mine does that all the time, gets through 8 or 9 Accounts with several firms every year.
