Rebuys

The Tournament states;

"Guaranteed Rebuy tournament. Unlimited re-buys for 45 minutes with no fee attached, one add-on allowed for 5000 chips during the 3 minute add-on break"

Assuming you are either allowed to take a rebuy immediately, or as soon as you are below starting stack, should you take it or not?

Why?

Same question with the add-on. If you have, say, average stack, should you automatically take the add-on? If you are way above, or way below, average, should you still take the add-on?

    Turbo rebuys were the form of poker that first got me proper hooked. I would rebuy relentlessly and could easily blow 50 squid on a 2 squid rebuy. Ridiculous... Plenty of people were doing this, mind you.

    Nowadays, I'm a 1 rebuy and 1 add-on kinda guy. If I bust before add-on and table is juicy I will re-enter. I would say a double rebuy is almost never worth it unless the table is very very juicy.

    Add-ons should be purchased every time in my opinion, even if you have a hugely mahoosive chip lead. I think I read article once that it's never ever negative ev to add-on, but the opposite.

    Used sit double rebuy straight of the bat, but looking at the numbers it seems higher EV to not double rebuy first thing (long term) - will re enter if bust out, but do the add on. that's only from what I have researched on scope (I may be wrong because I'm a bit of a lemon sometimes)

    The only time I will double rebuy at the start is if I see a recreational player on my table that's done the double as well.

    There's also a style that's widely used - buying in and then adding on just before late reg ends. The thought is that it increases hourly. I'm skeptical about that myself...

    I will always take the add on - always.

    I will only rebuy if my eyes are still open, or if I'm not in the middle of cooking dinner :) Otherwise I tend to leave if I donk out (mostly Mon-Fri because I iz a fish and tired by the time I get home so just having a 'splashy' game)

    The only time I will auto rebuy when I sit is if I have jumped into an omaha game in the last level of reg.
