All I would say at this stage is that there is a massive bias favouring low drawn front runners at Chester.
Due to this, horses drawn low with course form and reasonable top speed ratings often come to the fore. Often the horses "off the pace" never get into the race, unless the pace setters get the fractions wrong.
Always good to look for Jockey's like Silvesta De Sousa who imo is one of the best "front running" Jockey's in the world and usually gets the fractions just right. Ryan Moore's not too bad at it either. :=)
Chester is the smallest racecourse in the country, with tight turns and a short run in. Horses will kick of the bend at the 2 furlong marker and make a bid for glory.
It's a great spectacle and actually not a bad meeting to do a Jackpot at, due to the draw and pace bias, combined with the fact that Jockey's are so keen to get a lead and bag the rail, that they are always run at a true pace, making results slightly more "consistent."
Best of luck. Enjoy!
I am sure there will be a great atmosphere, with the race goers on the inside of the "oval" track. (I think they call it the ruby if I remember correctly) Let us know how it goes!

P.S. I may have some specific horses nearer the time. Going is classed as "GOOD" atm.
Jockey FRANNY NORTON is mustard round CHESTER, especially on Mark Johnson trained horses as they often front run. Hopefully LAKE VOLTA will get you off to a good start in the 1st race, as it's a prominent racer and drawn in stall 2, so has everything in it's favour. Hope you have a GREAT day Alan
Have a good day, dont really fancy anything much other than Lake Volta 2.10. Powerallied 4.25 and Gabriel the Devil 5.00 might be worth an interest too.
Had a up and down day but really enjoyed the w/end with work colleagues.
A 'quiet' Friday night ended with a couple of us in a soul bar somewhere, till 4am. Oooops.
4 of us decided to club together and split any profits. My 'banker' of the day, Lake Volta, didnt get us off to a great start as we were all on it. Also spoke to 'a stable lad' in the boozer before who said it was certain to win! Ooops again.
Had some stress trying put my place pot on at the course. No tote betting on the course anymore so had to do the Chester Six (which was actually for Legs 2 to 7, lol) Anyway, that was 64 quid down the swanny too.
Thankfully, the day got better after that. We went big on Duretto which thankfully came good for us in the 3rd. We were also on Master Archer in the last which meant we came away with a small profit from the day. This was then obviously blown away visiting quite a few of Chester's pubs and clubs in the evening.
A good day all in all.
I have now got my sofa calling me for the rest of the day.
I think Alan has managed to get a bit of his weekend 'Beer Money' back with an outstanding performance in the GOLD RUSH tonight. 'Coz I always have the lobby just above the exits, I kept seeing him in last place with virtually no chips. I know he's a great 'Ladderer' as I've noticed him before scraping into the cash from hopeless positions, or when he's in the cash, managing to get near the FT. Even with about 60 players left, he was still in the bottom few, but he outlasted me when i exited in 43rd (at least I had 5 Bounties for £50+), but to then have a look at the Lobby after watching TV, and seeing that Alan had actually WON the GOLD RUSH tonight is just unbelievable.......
...... Take a Bow Sir...... that is just BRILLIANT....... Really, really WELL DONE
