"Rating" here refers to your Sharkscope rating, which is a number between 50 and 100 that is supposed to estimate your ability. Since Sharkscope is now opt-in rather than opt-out on Sky Poker, people can only see a rating and your last 8 tournament/SNG results.

Whoever it was, just report them (Don't name and shame them on here) and they'll probably get a chat ban, or at least a severe bollocking.

The ability rating itself on Sharkscope is totally flawed - It'll rate someone playing £100 MTTs and losing heavily much higher than someone grinding out a ton of £1 SNGs and winning consistently, so I wouldn't place any value in the rating whatsoever.

Before Sharkscope became opt-in, there used to be a known regular high stakes DYM loser on here. Played £22 and above games only, down high 5 figures. Had a higher 'rating' than most of the £5 regulars I would look up from time to time who were winners.

I thought it was somewhere in sky’s terms and con not to berate players by using sharkscope stats.

That's slightly back to front, I think.

Sharkscope's T & C's most certainly state that using their stats to abuse or mock others is not permitted, though I don't ever recall them imposing that rule.

Sky Poker would take the more general view that if folks are being unreasonable in the chat box, then sanctions may be considered.

I don't believe Sky Poker have a specific T & C relating to Sharkscope related abuse. Sky Poker have no relationship with Sharkscope, they don't offer or give any data to Sharkscope, Sharkscope simply take it, re-package it & sell it.

Of course, anyone who abuses players of perceived lesser ability - either via Sharky stats or simply calling them "fish" or whatever is not terribly bright. It can never make sense for a player to abuse the very players who deliver profit. It was very common in Online Poker 10 years ago, but almost unheard of these days, as folks have wised up, or most of them have.

"Don't Tap on the Aquarium" is the expression I have often heard regarding this. (Albeit slightly derogatory)

Plus it is just the decent thing to do. We all pay the same entry fee, which gives us all the right to play our hands any way we seem fit. If anyone should tell you otherwise, unless they are your coach, ignore them.

100% agree with that. No idea why some folks in online poker enjoy being so mean. I suspect most of them are hen-pecked husbands, and it's the only chance they get to (try to) assert themselves.

    I live in a "1 woman, 1 vote" household.
My wife is the 1 woman with the 1 vote....

    Hi all

Following some recent discussions on the forum, we have decided to introduce a new rule. This is to help deter something which occasionally gets reported to us.

From today, anybody who 'mocks' or abuses other players based on their results (e.g. on Sharkscope stats) will have action taken against them. We will deal with each case individually but players need to be aware that breaking this rule may ultimately result in the loss of forum and chat privileges.

We're sure people will understand why we have done this. We really want Sky Poker to be a nice place to play poker and so stopping things like this will help.

For our full set of forum guidelines see here

As usual, we'd appreciate support in applying this. If you spot anything which you thing breaches these rules, please either PM us or contact customer care.

    Thanks
    Sky Poker

I thought i read it somewhere. Albeit doesn't seem to be in T's and C's

Link in OP has been removed, guess with changes etc.
