Mini UKOPS - what happened on Day FIVE?

Morning all.

Yay, don't you just love Saturday?

Loads of sport on the telly, including snooker, RU, cricket, golf, horse racing, football & God knows what else.

Anyone been watching the Northern Ireland Open Snooker? Ronnie has been in outrageous form. In fact, he's been toying with his opponents, & I'm not entirely sure he's not been taking the pi** to be honest. He's been doing that weird break off where he hits the "wrong side" of the pack, & I don't think I've ever seen anyone do that in a proper Pro Snooker match before.

He played a shot earlier in the week which made me gasp. When we watch these guys, we know 99% of the time what shot they will play next. This one was going to be a stone cold safety shot, for certain, black on the baulk cushion, white on the top cush. Bear in mind it was frame ball either way. And then he went & potted it in the middle bag.

    Day 5 Overlay Report

    Sky Poker 2, Players 3

    5 events last night, & the first three all missed, and I feared a whitewash was on the cards, but the last 2 both comfortably got home, probably because both were rebuys.

    When we play "Live" rebuys, we have to holler "chips please", but Online, it's so much easier & we just press that pesky button.

    Mini UKOPS 18, £2.20 entry, £500 BH

    Not too many familiar faces here, though was good to see @MynaFrett in 16th.

    6th place went to a real Sky Poker stalwart & lovely lady in @anjie1970, who has over 25,000 games here on her CV.

    5th place & most head prizes - 13 - went to @rundagame, with @jj01 in 4th.

    3rd was @bar1ron07, runner-up & 12 heads was @flopandgo, with the mythical trophy heading the way of @gomes04 who plays loads of £2 & £3 games here.

    I'm really not sure that celebrities & sportsmen or women deserve Knighthoods & such Honours, but there are exceptions, & we saw one yesterday when Kenny Dalglish became SIR Kenny Dalglish.

    He's a real case of cometh the hour cometh the man, & his long-standing dedication to bereaved families after the Hillsborough tragedy cannot be underestimated.

    Top top bloke.

    image

    I'm sure he's proper proud of that, but of all the honours he has received in his life, I reckon this probably pleases him more than the gong.

    image

    I wonder if Liverpool FC will send for the signwriter & add the "Sir" now? Hope so.

    Shoutout to @splashies who posted this last night, for Children In Need;

    I'll be playing 14 Bounty Hunter MTT's and the amount I donate will be...

    £2 for every head I take.
    £20 for a tournament win
    £10 if I take out a top 5 member of the Sharkscope MTT leaderboard on Sky for 2018.

    When the dust settled, he paid Children In Need £22.

    Well done @splashies, great stuff, & that thread was a great antidote to the Tommy Robinson racist thread, where a black politician is being mocked for her looks & intellect. Never thought I'd live to see the day when someone would commit to stuff like that in writing. >shudder<

    I've no idea where all the hate comes from these days, but fortunately the good guys still hold sway.

    Proud of you @splashies, proud of you.

    Mini UKOPS 20, £5.50 entry, £1,500 Mega Stack

    No bounties in this one, it was proper poker, & there were cashes for @notbrook1, @chicknMelt, @Ludovician, @fredsgirl, @Essexphil, @DustoLucko, with the final table bubbler being @BLUEBIRD.

    In the final, good to see @TommyD, though he never lasted long. Here's Tommy with some random at McCarron Airport, Las Vegas. Tommy, who stands 5'-3" is the tall one.

    image

    Running into form is @JJBinks who was 5th, then @K33TSYA1, @dojydav1, with @Lacoster 2nd & the glory spot went to @stanic222.

    Over in The Bahamas I mentioned 3 Brits yesterday who were going along real nicely, & already in the money, namely Adam Owen, Simon Deadman & Michael Kane.

    Within hours of me writing that, they all bust.

    Next time I'll not say anything. Sorry guys.

    Tidy money for them though - Michael got $17,500, Simon $25,000, & Adam $65,000.

    Adam had been quite confident overnight, & posted a photo of his chips after bagging up;

    image

    If you want to know his reaction to busting out, you'd best go look at his Twitter feed, (@adamyid) as I can't possibly repeat it here. Fair to say he was not best pleased.

    Mini UKOPS 21, £5.50 entry, £5,000 Rebuy BH

    They were really chucking the chips around in this one, as tends to happen in fiver rebuys, & there were cashes for @chicknMelt, @day4eire76, @TheDart & @chiggypig.

    @stokefc had a small cash, but I guess his opponents sussed out that Stokey adjusts his ranges as the night wears on.

    Shout-out to 34th place @LEGENDERRY, what a great alias that is.

    Just missing the Final, which always hurts, were @GregUK and @Wacko90.

    6th went to @wallis03, 5th to @shire40 and 4th was @duck57.

    I oten muse on how players come up with these weird aliases, which certainly applies to 3rd place @begbiekoch.

    Great effort in 2nd by @Card4Life, with the well-deserved win going to @imbluffinn.

    Over on Twitter, Sky Poker regular @bornablade posted this;

    image

    And the question was, can you see the "8" in the middle of the card?

    I had to stare at it for 5 minutes before I saw it. Can you see it? Is it really there, or is it just an illusion?

    That's it, we are done.

    I'm off to watch Ronnie O'Sullivan & Mark Selby, the Mackeson Gold Cup (or whatever it is called these days) from Cheltenham, and both RU Internationals, as Ireland take on the All Blacks & England play Japan.

    I watched England play the All Blacks last weekend on telly, & the commentator, doing his introductory bit at the beginning, said.....

    England line up in the white strip, whilst the All Blacks are in all black.

    Thank God for commentators to explain this stuff to us.
