The Tommy Robinson & Brexit threads are real curate's eggs. When the debate is constructive, they are very good indeed, but the personal insults are getting way out of hand, & have to stop.
Some allowance has been made for the passion these important topics generate, which was right & proper, but the gratuitous insults are now dominating these threads & have gone way too far.
There is also evidence of trolling. It's very hard to conclusively prove what is, or is not trolling, & trolls always play the martyr card when exposed. So be it.
Going forward, "coolers" (24 or 48 hour Forum chat bans) or longer Forum chat bans (minimum 1 week) will be imposed on anyone being unnecessarily insulting or rude, or trolling. Repeat offenders may face permanent Forum chat bans. There will be no further warnings, they will be imposed without notice or explanation.
This is effective immediately.
Let's continue the debates, but do so in a more constructive manner. Nobody ever won a debate by being rude or slinging insults back & forth.
