Afternoon all, & welcome to the review (of sorts) of Xmas UKOPS Day 3.
I'll be pleased when the Xmas & NY holiday is behind us - I've lost touch with what day of the week it is. Saturday is my favourite day of the week, but I missed out yesterday as I never even knew it was the weekend. Might just be me I suppose. Old age plays some horrible tricks.
Let's go.

5 of the 8 Events covered, some very nicely indeed, & the 3 misses were insignificant. Well done Sky James.Overlay Report
One clear trend is that the 4pm event has overlaid all 3 days, & I'll be surprised if its any different today. So if you fancy buying £5 notes for £4 a piece, you'd best play it this afternoon. 4pm start, don't forget. It's a snip.
Needing 200 entries, just 158 showed up, so this was Value City.UKOPS 18, £2,000 Bounty Hunter, £11 entry
@plinky1771 474000 1 £329.73 + £101.37 Head Prizes 12
@goodgirluk 0 2 £197.84 + £36.41 Head Prizes 5
@thepope 0 3 £121 + £34.03 Head Prizes 6
@anglerfish 0 4 £94.98 + £23.78 Head Prizes 3
@Bad_dobbi 0 5 £81.07 + £31.94 Head Prizes 4
@Card4Life 0 6 £68.24 + £22.27 Head Prizes 4
The winner seems to mostly play £0.25 & £0.50 Turbo DYM's, so nabbing over £400 here must have felt real good, well done Mr Plinky.
Runner-up @goodgirluk is a name that keeps cropping up & might be one to watch.
"Most Head Prizes", with 12, went to the winner, so that's all nice & tidy.
Next case.
Unsurprising but sad news yesterday that HMV have gone into administration, which is business speak for "busto".
As teenagers back in the day, a visit to HMV in Oxford Street was as good as it gets. In those days there was no ways to listen to pop music except via a crackly transistor radio tuned to 208, Radio Luxembourg. This was way before Radio 1 or even the Pirate Radio stations, smartphones, Walkmans, I-pods & the like. There was, literally, no way to listen to "modern" music.
So we'd go up to HMV on a Saturday & ask to hear a record by Lonnie Donnegan or Elvis Presley or whoever, & then we'd go into a little "sound booth" & listen. We never purchased them of course - way too expensive, & anyway, we had nothing to play them on. We could spend a whole afternoon listening to records there before the Manager twigged & threw us out. Happy days.
UKOPS 19, £3,000 Bounty Hunter, £22 entry
Spare a thought for @Tspark who finished 158th of 158 in the 4pm opener, & then repeated the trick - 145th of 145 - in this one for an unlikely & unwanted double. It's not that Tspark is a bad player, far from it, he is anything but, but some players like to gamble early for a stack. When it goes right, it's great, when it goes wrong, not so much.There were deep runs for @TheDart, @jawzindawz, @scotty77, @smartca627, @MattBates - time he won one of these - @Essexphil (ditto), @unbpower & @gac123 who final table bubbled.
@BooBooTheB 435000 1 £426.25 + £185.67 Head Prizes 9
@McNuts71 0 2 £257.30 + £9.38 Head Prizes 1
@Jessieak 0 3 £158.10 + £148.84 Head Prizes 9
@tdf01 0 4 £125.55 + £85.48 Head Prizes 7
@FCPORTO81 0 5 £106.95 + £37.50 Head Prizes 5
@Kez7810 0 6 £89.90 + £54.84 Head Prizes 7
"Most Heads" was shared by the 1st & 3rd, @Jessieak & @BooBooTheB.
They say "never tell a book by it's cover", but I'd bet good money that @BooBooTheB is a fun guy or girl, has to be with a moniker like that. Either way, BooBoo has a cracking Sharkscope graph, relentlessly on the up, & makes more than enough money to pay for the bear necessities.
WP BooBoo.
It is not just HMV that have disappeared from our High Streets, dozens of iconic brands have disappeared.
Whatever happened to Radio Rentals, so named because you rented
radiosTV's from them?It's tough to know how we get by without them these days. What are we supposed to do when a valve in our TV blows?
UKOPS 20, £4,000 Rebuy Bounty Hunter, £22 entry
@Sharki0, who has had a subdued UKOPS - so far - was 20th, just behind a flurry of familiar names in @unbpower, @HAYSIE, @scotty77, @lolufold, @TheDart & @SenorBegs.Just missing the final were @Mikeyw94, @chicknmelt & @GSmith13 in 9th, 8th & 7th respectively.
@Mattsmum 640000 1 £734.25 + £444.68 Head Prizes 12
@MattBates 0 2 £443.22 + £301.04 Head Prizes 11
@peiratis88 0 3 £272.34 + £75.48 Head Prizes 6
@onlyme7304 0 4 £216.27 + £188.07 Head Prizes 11
@beefheart1 0 5 £184.23 + £76.88 Head Prizes 5
@ApplesJade 0 6 £154.86 + £22.97 Head Prizes
What a week @peiratis88 is having, this was his 7th cash & 4th Final Table, notching up a 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 6th, & there are still over a dozen UKOPS events remaining. Splendid performance.
1st & 2nd was battled out between @MattBates & his Mum, @Mattsmum suggesting a bit of the old "family play". The problem with MattBates is he keeps over-betting. Must be true, I read it on a poker forum.
@Mattsmum is having a very tidy series too, this was his 7th cash & 2nd win. How do these boys do it? Amazing stuff, WP Mattsmum.
I suppose the truth is folks no longer wear proper shoes, everyone goes down to Sports Direct & buys trainers. Trainers, for goodness sake. I went past a Church Funeral on my daily perambulate yesterday & there was a Funeral going off - & three of the mourners were wearing TRAINERS. I kid you not.
My boss even wears trainers to the office. Trainers in the office, ffs.
God help us all.
UKOPS 21, £10,000 Main Event, £110 entry
Good to see Ambo, aka @NChanning play this, & whilst he only finished 27th, I fancy he will have been chuffed to outlast @FeelGroggy by a spot.
As a non Bounty Hunter Freezeout - proper poker tourney - we'll name check all 15 cashees;
@MattBates 1090000 1 £3106.50
@pricktim 0 2 £1798.50
@thisltedu 0 3 £1090
@unbpower 0 4 £872
@matisback 0 5 £752.10
@Excessive7 0 6 £643.10
@MrDirk 0 7 £534.10
@StayOrGo 0 8 £370.60
@ziggy01 0 9 £294.30
@buddha350 0 10 £239.80
@millsylad 0 11 £239.80
@Ludovician 0 12 £239.80
@Tedson 0 13 £239.80
@stuart43 0 14 £239.80
@pentire 0 15 £239.80
Good to see @TEDSON cash again, & a strong run in 8th from @StayOrGo.
Another deep run in 4th by @unbpower, and a terrific result for Donald aka @thisltedu in 3rd.
The runner-up has an interesting alias - I do love the name "Tim".
And, the winner......
...is none other than Mr Over-Bettor himself, @MattBates. Here's the man himself at an SPT, can anyone name the blurry face at the table behind him, and the Venue?
UKOPS 22, £3,000 Mini, £11 entry
Small cashes for @kapowblamz, @MattBates, @Toffeeandy, @SOLACK & the wonderfully-named @eatmymuck2.Yet another cash for @peiratis88 & @TEDSON in 14th & 13th, with @JJBinks 10th.
And the Final?
@luckme002 1167000 1 £1011.59
@poker69 0 2 £575.22
@Udderz 0 3 £341.16
@unbpower 0 4 £261.82
@AAMICK 0 5 £222.15
@smith1408 0 6 £182.48
The winner @luckme002 is not a name many will know, but he has been here since around 2011, & his Sharky graph just keeps rising inexorably. Always amazes me how loyal so many players are here at Sky Poker. Is it due to the wonderful state-of-the-art software, perhaps? The question is rhetorical. Obv.
June Whitfield passed away yesterday.
She was not everyone's cup of tea, but I doubt a single soul disliked her.
Amazingly, she has been on our TV & film screens for the best part of 70 years, everything from Terry & June & Carry On films to Absolutely Fabulous.
In all those years her looks never changed, even her hair was the same. Must be nice to age so well.
God rest her soul.

UKOPS 23, £4,000 Bounty Hunter, £22 entry
Inevitably, @peiratis88 cashed again (14th), a spot behind @rspca12 & 2 spots in arrears of @LARSON7.In 10th was a previous UKOPS winner @hammmmers with yet another cash for @unbpower in 9th.
Quite a hot final table, with @TimmyRaRa 6th, @FeelGroggy 4th, and Scotty77 not quite managing the win but securing the mythical "Most Heads" prize with 12.
I'm not familiar wih the winner, @LeosRocket who is, I think, fairly new to Sky Poker & was playing only his 2nd MTT in a month.I fancy we might see a little more of him now, nothing luke a decent bink to rev up the enthusiasm.
@LeosRocket 702000 1 £631.80 + £222.13 Head Prizes 9
@scotty77 0 2 £381.42 + £175.60 Head Prizes 12
@MadMaggie1 0 3 £230.49 + £50.39 Head Prizes 5
@FeelGroggy 0 4 £181.35 + £36.09 Head Prizes 3
@piffcheese 0 5 £154.44 + £60.72 Head Prizes 3
@TimmyRaRa 0 6 £128.70 + £26.03 Head Prizes 2
Until reading though a list of those who passed away in 2018 I never realised old Jim Bowen had passed away.
His Show was essential Sunday afternoon viewing back in the day, & even now, "here's what you would have won" is a stock phrase, as is "nothing for two in a bed".
Super, smashing, great.
UKOPS 24, £4,000 Turbo Bounty Hunter, £55 entry
Unusually, this missed Guarantee, though only by a smidge.
Bad day for @TommyD, 64th of 66 in this, & Spurs got turned over at home by Wolves.
Few hotshots in this Final, with @GSmith13 6th, @Haydenx37 5th, @devil_tear 4th & @Froozle 3rd.
Melty, aka @chicknmelt was runner-up & in the process took 14 head prizes, which must be close to a record for a 66 runner affair.
Decent night for @paul10 who has the best part of 10,000 Sky Poker MTT's on his CV, & was recording his 3rd UKOPS cash of the evening.
@paul10 370000 1 £645 + £303.87 Head Prizes 5
@chicknMelt 0 2 £430 + £352.70 Head Prizes 14
@Froozle 0 3 £258 + £38.96 Head Prizes 1
@devil_tear 0 4 £215 + £237.45 Head Prizes 9
@Haydenx37 0 5 £172 + £60.94 Head Prizes 3
@GSmith13 0 6 £139.75 + £23.44 Head Prizes 1
Another very sad death in 2018 was Chas, of Chas & Dave fame.
Bet he was never seen in the same room as Jeff Lynne.
UKOPS 25, £2,000 Hyper Bounty Hunter, £22 entry
Final table bubble honours went to @GSmith13, which must have pinched a bit.
6th spot went to @MAKAKA, who, you may recall, won the UKOPS Main Event on Day 1.
Next out was the ever consistent @rspca12, then @DJJOE, with @MattBates ending a good night in 3rd.
Runner-up @abstar99 had not played an MTT on Sky Poker until a day earlier, so that's quite a start, & 12 Head Prizes was pretty handy too.
We don't see much of @MStott - just his 8th MTT here in 6 months - but he took the win in style. Another one we might see more of in future.
@MStott 339000 1 £315.83 + £177.56 Head Prizes 8
@abstar99 0 2 £192.66 + £143.44 Head Prizes 12
@MattBates 0 3 £118.65 + £35.16 Head Prizes 3
@DJJOE 0 4 £95.48 + £89.65 Head Prizes 8
@rspca12 0 5 £81.36 + £15 Head Prizes 2
@Makaka 0 6 £70.06 + £23.44 Head Prizes
16.00 UKOPS 26 Bounty Hunter £2,000 £11 10 3000
18.00 UKOPS 27 Bounty Hunter £3,000 £22 10 3000
19.00 UKOPS 28 Bounty Hunter £4,000 £22 10 3000
19.30 UKOPS 29 High Roller Bounty Hunter £15,000 £220 15 10000 Unlimited
20.00 UKOPS 30 Bounty Hunter Main Event £30,000 £110 15 10000 Unlimited

22.00 UKOPS 33 Turbo Bounty Hunter £4,000 £55 7 5000 1
23.00 UKOPS 34 Hyper Bounty Hunter £2,000 £22 5 3000
That's it for today. Apologies for the lack of variety in the "colour" stuff, but I'm a little UTW today & as a result I was somewhat lacking in imagination. Too much trifle & custard, I fear. Must get a prize for most original excuse, right?
Good luck tonight, & I'll be back tomorrow with the final report for Sky Poker Xmas UKOPS 2018.
Cheers.
The less said about that image the better, no idea on the venue, all SPT's have kinda blurred into one in my memory. Must be something they put into my San Miguel.
