Morning all.

Might be worth seeing if we can sustain a general poker news thread, be it Online or Live, here in the UK or global.

Everyone is welcome to contribute, but I'll get us started.

    Who to cheer for?

    Has to be dear old Scott Wellenback for me. A 66 year old pure recreational, who has vowed to give whatever he wins to charity. He has form for doing exactly that, too.

    GL Scott.

    You will note the name of the odious Chino Reem as Chip Leader.

    I'm sure everyone will be rooting for him to win.

    Here's a few snippets of Mr Reem's history;

    So maybe Rhino will be dumping off his stack. We can but hope.

    That was not an outlier, either - have a read of this;

    Seems a nice sort.

    All of which led to a com situation yesterday, when Chino, without a cent in his pocket, asked his table mates to lend him $200 to tip his masseuse.

    There were 7 left at the time, & all 7 were guaranteed at least $200,000, but not one of them was prepared to loan Reem the $200. Fancy that.

    Why on earth does anyone still loan him money?

    Well it's all over, & sadly, victory in the PCA Main went to Chino Reem. Poker is not always fair.

    Here's the full result;

    1 David "Chino" Rheem United States $1,567,100

    2 Daniel Strelitz United States $951,480

    3 Scott Wellenbach Canada $671,240

    4 Pavel Veksler Ukraine $503,440

    5 Vicent Bosca Spain $396,880

    6 Brian Altman United States $297,020

    7 Mihai Manole Romania $208,920

    8 Marc-Andre Ladouceur Canada $146,840

    In good news though, 67 year old Scottt Wellenbach, a pure recreational player, finished 3rde for $671,240, & confirmed that he would donate every cent to charity.

    An extraordinary gesture by the Bill Bryson lookalike.

    Meanwhile, after a successful PCA, in which he banked over a million USD, Stephen Chidwick displaced Sam Trickett at the head of the "most Live MTT winnings by a UK player" chart.

    To be fair, Sam rarely plays live MTT's these days, but equally, half his winnings came in that One Drop when he collected $10 milly as runner-up to Antonie Esfandiari. Worth noting, too, that Sam would have sold most of his action in that, so those numbers are a but false really.

    Stephen does not have the visual charisma of a Sam Trickett, Middy, or Devilfish, and is rarely seen smiling. His bald pate does not help either. Can't half play poker though, one assumes.

    Here's Stephen before he shaved off his hair. Looks a lot more approachable, right?
