MTT volume

Hi all
Looking for some perspective really. If we are looking to make a good side income from playing low/mid stakes MTTs, presuming we are good enough to and putting in study and work on our game, what volume, say per week/month should we be playing? Realistic amount? Thanks in advance guys

This will depend on 2 things-your ABI (Average Buy-In) and your ROI (Return On Investment).

So-if your ABI was £10, and your ROI was 50%, you would need to play 200 MTTs p.m to make £1,000 p.m

Key to volume is table count which is very player dependent. Some can 20 table, others struggle with 2. Working out your optimal table count is pretty important as it is easy to end up playing too many tables and your ROI dropping significantly. Another thing is making sure you play the key games rather than any games. There will be certain games you should prioritise above others but you will also want to keep table count up. When we used to back guys over a few sites so having too many tables was a realistic problem we would have "must play" games and "can play" games. For example regging a £5.50bh then not having room for the mini doesn't make much sense.

Agree totally with Phil and Matt..Phil's analysis of 10 tables per day across 20 'working' days seems so achievable!

When I return to my DYM target for the year-after the SPTS close, I'm gonna try and stick to between 10-20 (£5.50/£11.00/£22.00) tables a day. (At the moment, I'm not being as systematic as I should be to analyse my performance in DYM's...just like playing I suppose!)

The no of tables is so personal..for me on a laptop with 4 tables open, that's my optimum number to play poker, i.e. to make betting decisions as though I am playing one game and its players, not just looking at the odds and betting with a time limit...

    GL on your targets!

    Hi
Thanks for the comments and help, appreciate it. Dobiesdraw, you're right, I worded it rather clumsily. I guess i meant, that we are not overall a losing player, we are trying to improve, studying and working on the game.

Wasn't questioning your ability , my question was more intended for the replies from serial winners and lurkers . Genuinely interested in when people consider themsleves at a level that increasing their play will necessarily cement that belief and increase their profitability overall
