If you have even been to the WSOP in an event where Phil Ivey was playing, this couple were always on his rail;
As far back as 2014, Phil Ivey tweeted this;
More than my fans, Pat & Mel Humphries have been my friends for over a decade.
So Pat & Mel must have been railing Phil since at least 2004.
A Tweet by Norman Chad yesterday - he of the ESPN commentary - told us this sad news;
Pat Humphreys passed away this weekend.
Nothing defined the joy of the WSOP Main Event more than Pat & Mel Humphreys on the rail, w/ their Phil Ivey signs chanting, “Ivey! Ivey! Ivey!”
They were a delight to see & talk to each year.
The poker world’s heart goes out to you, Mel.
Danny Negreanu also Tweeted this yesterday;
She will be missed! Had the pleasure of speaking to here just weeks ago on FaceTime as Phil Ivey visited her in the hospital. RIP Pat.
All pretty sad.
