Sticky Threads.

Are there too many Sticky Threads?
Some seem to have been dormant for a while and when I open up Poker Chat all I can see is Stickied Threads.
Personally prefer it when I can see the latest threads rather than having to scroll down.
Maybe being a little picky but just an observation.

    Do you use the "discussions" option at the top of the page? just to the left of the search bar?

    Sometimes, but tend to focus on Poker Chat.

    Some valid points there.

    I must say, personally, I'm not a fan of "Sticky Threads" for exactly the reason you describe, but many people use them & like them.

    I'm like @KOBAYASHI &, I suspect, many others, in that I always have the forum open at "Discussions", which enables me to see, at a single glance, all the threads & Boards upon which posts have last been made.

    In fairness to you though, you've got me bang to rights here, as because I always use the Discussions mode, I don't see all the Sticky Threads.

    I've just had a look, & I can reduce them straight away.

    1) Triple Takedown

    This gets decent use, regularly updated. It's also one of the many competitions here run by guys on the Community. In fairness to all the effort they make, I thunk that can remain as a Sticky.

    2) Scheduled Maintenance.

    This was only put up this morning & will be unstickied first thing tomorrow morning. I don't usually sticky these, which happen on average about once a fortnight, but with the Forum much busier now, they would drop off the page before the day is out, so these will continue to be stickied going forward, but ONLY for 1 day.

    3) Welcome to the new Sky Poker Forum

    This has clearly passed it's sell-by-date, & can be unstickied now. I'll deal with it tonight or tomorrow morning latest.

    4) Race to the Main

    Again, this has now run it's course as far as I can tell, so I'll unsticky that, too.

    5) Sky Poker Community Guidelines

    This has to stay somewhere, but nobody reads it these days, so I'll have a think overnight & find somewhere else - on a less populated Board - to place it.


    So really, some poor husbandry on my part there, but by tomorrow morning, it'll be down to 1, 2 at the max, which I hope you'll agree is not too onerous.

    Should look better now @68Trebor, I've unsticked 2, moved one, & another (Scheduled Maintenance) will disappear first thing tomorrow.

    Gotta be honest stickys I can handle ........BUT the ticker tape .....FFS!
    We all know when the Main is starting soon..why? well we cant afford it!
