Cameron Bancroft has been appointed captain of Durham for this season.


Cameron who? This Cameron......

He's served his sentence, so that's that, but I'm not sure appointing him captain of a County side makes sense, or at least yet awhile.

Good decision, or bad?

    Can't really see a downside. Served the punishment so no probs. In a position to maybe help younger players steer clear of potential pitfalls and could well have a burning desire to a) prove himself and b) repay Durhams faith.

    The guy has served his sentence,he is young and by all accounts he was coerced into the whole thing by a far more experienced pro,who happened to be the vice captain. I guess we should give him a chance.
    Having said that if it were my county,Hampshire, I would not want him to have the honour of being captain.

    That will be just papering over the cracks :)

    Love the way we are quick to judge Australians for this, while forgetting Atherton did similar, Trescothick admitted to similar in his autobiography relating to the 2005 series, Broad and Anderson admitted deliberately digging their spikes into the ball in South Africa...
