Ask them which side of this argument they support.

Bad jokes aside, I'm with the school on this one.

We teach sex education for various age groups already. Teaching kids that sometimes men love other men, women love other women, and so on, is just an extension of that.

If it's being taught, it should be taught sooner than any sex education stuff given how common (relatively speaking) it is nowadays to see same sex couples holding hands, or for kids in a class to have same sex parents. Those things should be explained to children and people's religious beliefs shouldn't get in the way of that.

I wouldn't just limit teaching to LGBT+ stuff, although due to increased awareness and tolerance in modern society, I can see how it gets more attention than other things which IMO should also be covered, and why it would be the first thing to be added.

If we have 'LGBT lessons', what about covering things like polyamory too? If it is the case that we should have 'LGBT lessons', then polyamory should be taught for the same reasons. While they are two entirely different things, they are still both just different branches of the same tree (i.e. variations from the social norm of monogamous, heterosexual relationships).

    ---

Slight tangent, but something hypothetical to consider - I wonder what the crowd showing up to protest lessons about polyamory would look like.

I reckon it would be vastly different, given Islam permits men to marry up to four women at a time, while polygamy typically isn't accepted by Christianity. How many parents who are okay with LGBT lessons would be against polyamory lessons, and vice versa?

I think we would soon find that the issue isn't with children being too young to be taught such things, but rather that the teachings conflict with the religious beliefs of their parents.

Think every right-thinking person, as well as Liberals, would agree with the school there. Key is that any such lessons must be age-appropriate.

It is a simple question. I'm disappointed in you Vespa. You can make Liberals' heads explode regularly with your conspiracy theories. Do you REALLY believe all that guff?
