Revealed: Britain's busiest speed camera that snares 327 drivers a week and made up to £5MILLION over three years - as UK's top 10 worst roads for speeding motorists are named
The busiest speed camera in the UK catches 327 drivers each week on a dual carriage stretch of 30mph road.
New figures have revealed the device, on Maybray King Way, Bitterne in Southampton, has been triggered 51,049 times over 2015, 2016 and 2017.
The minimum fine it generates is £100, so the speed trap could have generated in the region of £5 million.
Driving groups were 'astonished' by the figure - which is a significant outlier in the top ten list - and asked for the 30mph speed limit, on the wide stretch of dual carriageway, to be increased.
