Bye bye Conservatives

Do those stupid self serving Tories who effectively sank Brexit really believe that their political careers will continue after the next election?

They may be full of smug self congratulatory pride now but its all going to end in tears. The M.P for my local area is a Tory the first one in Stoke in 50 years and probably the last one for another 50. He is a young man who supported the result of the referendum and voted for the various deals as per the wishes of 70% of the people of Stoke.

However, that wont save him as the minute 17.4 million of the electorate get a chance they are going to unleash armageddon on those that betrayed them. Make no mistake the next election will not be decided by national, local or even economic issues but simply by a desire to payback for their cowardice and failure to do what was right because whatever exit we end up with now isnt the one we voted for.

It began when they elected a staunch remainer to be P.M. It'll end with less than 200 sitting Tory M.P.s

How can you blame your MP, if he voted as he was supposed to, and respected the referendum result?
What would be different if you had a Labour MP that did exactly the same thing?
What could a Labour MP have done differently from what your MP has done?
Which party are you going to vote for in the next election?
Which Brexit do you think you voted for?
What could a leave supporting PM have done differently?

That is all of them, new and old.

I do believe that there may be change ahead. But I guarantee any new parties will be as bad (or worse) than what we already have.

To add to @TheEdge949 earlier post, I too live in Stoke (Central) but my MP, who is a Labour bod, voted AGAINST the proposals for Brexit, therefore against the wishes of his constituents. He should have voted for the proposals as per the wishes of the referendum showed but chose to follow his own agenda instead. Politics stinks to high Heaven and this farce just goes to prove how much...they are making the UK the laughing stock of the World...bring back Guido Fawkes I say

I absolutely agree that he personally did all he could on my behalf to carry my wishes through but unfortunately as in conflict, politics has collateral damage. The fate of many excellent politicians has been sealed by the intransigence of their party as a whole to deliver on the biggest issue since The Emancipation of Women Act.

Dont know who Im going to vote for at the next election may not even bother I mean what happens if people dont like the result? Do we do it all over again?. Right now I have zero faith in any politician or political party to honour its manifesto pledges. All I know is I could never vote for a party that has Corbyn as its leader. But it wont matter Labour will win a landslide as the betrayal backlash hammers the Tories and we have 5 years of Marxist - Socialist loony left ideas. Probably a good job we will still be tied to the EU coz we will be skint. Maybe we will qualify for a bailout.

I voted for a clean Brexit, no deals no compromises, just a bye darling slam of the door. You dont spend 2 years plus thrashing out the details of a divorce you walk out, send her the papers and get on with your life. All the deals are struck after.

A leave supporting PM should have done what The Iron Lady would have done. Told Brussels that were leaving on the 29th March and waited for Europe to come to us seeking compromise, because contrary to what remainers seem to fail to understand is EU needs us more than we need the EU. Thats why they dont want us to go. Not because its in our interests to stay but because its in their interests to keep us in.

Cant wait to hear the reaction of the remainers after 5 years of Jezzerism.

Hope this answers your questions Haysie
