Afternoon.

I'm short of time today, so we'll have to keep this one brief, & I'm sure many of you may be pleased to read that. Not too much went off last night, though I suppose that depends if you done well or not.

Was a pretty quiet night at the tables too, (though not on the Forum....) with the Main & Mini covering by a smidge, Summit missing by a painful £600, & Quickdraw falling a couple short. Still, considering the quality of televised CL Football, I guess those were acceptable numbers.

Tonight sees the delicious match up of Man United & Messi Barcelona, so numbers might well be on the thin side again.

OK, let's get this done.

    Gold Rush Main

    Rocket919 is on fire. He only plays MTT's occasionally, just 8 in the last fortnight, but he has cashed nicely in no less than 6 of them. In addition to last night's bink, he cashed in the £6k BH on Sunday, Sharpshooter on Saturday, finalled Hitman on Thursday, finalled the £6k BH the prior Sunday, and was 3rd of £463 in the Mini a few days earlier.

    So 6 nice cashes in 8 attempts over a fortnight. That's extraordinary, can anyone remember a hotter run that that?

    The runner-up did pretty well too, played just 8 MTT's here since Xmas, & got into it via a satellite.

    Top binking by them both.

    5th placed kodiak1985 was maybe the class act, he does pretty well with a 46% ROI from a small sample size.

    Deep run by Jac35 too, though whether he was pleased or disappointed is not clear. When we go deep, there's always that "if only my 9-9 had held up" sort of thing.

    Gold Rush Mini

    wynne won, well done him. I have a bet with one of the Sky Poker Suits that "wynne1938" does NOT refer to his age, he swears it does & I'm equally sure, as I've met him, it does not. All I can say is that if wynne is 80 years old he has worn unbelievably well. Bit like me I suppose.

    Runner-up was gypsyluck, but I'd bet good money he's not a real Gypsy. I have a very close friend who is a Gypsy - proper Gypsy - & he gets mortally offended if he sees Gypsy written with a lower case G. Gypsies are officially a race of people, like English, Russian or whatever, & they consider it derogatory if a lower case G is used. Bet you never knew that. Or cared, to be fair.

    @wynne1938 4220000 1 £263.75 + £76.75 Head Prizes 11

    @gypsyluck 0 2 £147.70 + £22.78 Head Prizes 4

    @vickirockx 0 6 £46.95 + £11.85 Head Prizes 4

    In the "most heads" department, three players took 11, one of whom finalled (wynne), one was 8th, & the other was.......51st. Must feel odd to take 11 heads & not finish in the Top 50.

    Summit

    You will know that I, & many others, have a soft spot for Flopper-Wopper oynutter, so what a delight to see him win this. He's been here for 11 years, & his graph is a lovely, unbroken rise, but it went vertical last night & it looks to me that it was his best ever result on Sky Poker. 11 years is a long time in poker, so he must feel chuffed to bits, & quite right too. Bet that cash will come in handy, too. He's a bit of a head-case, for sure, but in all those years I doubt he's ever posted a negative post on the Sky Poker Forum despite the fact life has been a struggle for him & "me julee".

    @oynutter 270000 1 £1221 + £773.41 Head Prizes 8

    @gadge69 0 2 £726 + £166.40 Head Prizes 3

    @SoLack 0 3 £495 + £75 Head Prizes 2

    @zeeco 0 4 £363 0

    @podraic 0 5 £264 + £215.63 Head Prizes 5

    @Herbie536 0 6 £231 + £410.16 Head Prizes 8

    Poor old Danny, out with the washing, but he's a proper bloke, so he'll have shrugged his shoulders & moved on.

    Quickdraw

    No surprise to see wineli get the cheese, & note both starfox & Monty15 have Sharky ratings in the high 80's. (For context, Villain Bates is 89).

    @wineli 140000 1 £400 + £196.08 Head Prizes 4

    @Arrogant 0 2 £240 + £147.66 Head Prizes 5

    @Herbie536 0 3 £160 + £98.44 Head Prizes 5

    @starfox 0 4 0

    @Monty15 0 5 0

    @tug180 0 6 £37.50 Head Prizes 2

    Meanwhile, tailed off where these 3. No matter how good we are at the poker, these things are gonna happen, & if you play the game properly, it will happen from time to time, it just will.

    No grumps
    My kind of mtt. Turbo and so skill not a factor
    Had a good run and exit was standard. You’re right though. When you get that deep it’s always a tad disappointing to bust out before the proper money

    Can’t believe wineli won last night lol. I have him noted as a really good player, but last night he was literally Donk shoving every hand early on. I presumed (and asked him) if he was in a rush. Eventually, still at an early blind level, I called with 9s to be greeted with his 34suited.

    I was loving it, until the flopped flush and I was out. He continued to Donk shove knocking another out with q5off. And turns out he wasn’t in a rush and ended up winning. Gotta love Poker....although I hated it last night.

    Anyway I’ve never seen him play like that before so still assume he was in a rush and shoved his way to glory. Gg.

    Wowwee, thanks Tikay, flopped a proper whoppa lol. That post got me all emotional there for a minute. Just hope I don't go mad now, nothing is that impossible innit?
    Finally got a bit of a bankroll now, so hopefully things are looking up.
    Great to be playing with the big boys now.
    Thanks Tikay, you is still my hero :)

    Cheers all, floppa whoppa!

    Please don't tell everybody I'm mad, it's a closely guarded secret you know!:)

    I always thought no-one was your hero (except Orford, obviously) :)

    No such thing as a poker player hero to me, no. I don't count you as a poker player though. :)
