Having a bet at Newmarket today ..this might be of interest

Key Characteristics
There aren’t any great biases on this course although if horses get a soft lead races can often be stolen from the front. The July course actually ranks 6 out of 37 of all the UK courses for front runners. In other words it definitely favours horses that lead.

I don't know if you know dd but there are two courses at Newmarket The ROWLEY MILE (where they're racing today), and The JULY COURSE which you mentioned for front runners, but as the name implies, they don't start using that course until JULY

    Happy Punting :)

Yes , obviously losing the plot today . Thanks for pointing that out.

    Key Characteristics
The Rowley Mile course is massively wide and due to the amount of racing on it the rails are constantly moved and different parts of it used, so it is difficult to be conclusive about any overall biases which exist. You need to watch the earlier races on the same day. The course is a straight course with a slightly inclined finish so if horses go off to fast in the 5 or 6 furlong races then they don’t get home

Good info that though....thank you dd.

I don't start betting properly on Flat racing 'til June when the form settles down, and horses have had their first races, and you see the 'Pecking Order' of the Aidan O'Brien horses
