World Snooker Championships

Anyone else looking forward to the next 2 weeks of Snooker from Sheffield?

Love the snooker. Respectful audiences, players nicely dressed, good manners, all please & thank you, & they don't really need a referee, as they call their own fouls. When a ball gets re-spotted after a "miss" they even tell the referee exactly where it should be. Imagine that in football.

Love it.

Was pleased to see Williams ease though yesterday against the dogged Gould.

Was there ever a cooler guy in snooker than Mark Williams?

Love my snooker, so really looking forward to the next 2 weeks B)

Had a tenner on Williams to win last year at 25/1!

Backed Ronnie to win this year at between 3/1 & 4/1 .

    Any bets/fancies @Tikay10 ?

Well I'm a big Ronnie fan, but his price is no value at all. I love Williams too, but he's been on the lash for a year, so watching brief is advised for the moment.

For a real rag, I have had a small bet on Hawkins. Got good form at Sheffield & won't go down without a fight.

Also had a bit on Zhao Xintong to beat Mark Selby at 7/2 tomorrow - he's a cracking prospect.

Might have an interest in Un Nooh too, but he has to get past Trump, which is a huge ask.

Trump is in form but I dislike him, would not back him with stolen.

Roberston is a lively one too, but his run of hot form must end soon, surely?

The bet on Zhao Xintong to beat Selby @ 7/2 is off to a flyer - Zhao leads 5-1 (best of 19) and Selby is looking decidedly uncomfortable.

    Sensation, Ronnie BUSTO.

Quite sad really, the Tournament will be poorer for his absence.

He was off his game though, & looked decidedly unwell this morning.

Got a bit unlucky in the final frame when he potted the blue & opened the pack, but knocked a red in.

Overall though, probably a fair result.

    Unbelievable scenes. What an upset!

Backed Ronnie pre tournament (in free bets) but couldn't resist this price :)

    @goldnballz

    Goodness me, nice spot.

Easy for me to say with hindsight, but "heads up" in anything can rarely be a 22/1 shot.

    Very nice win, well done.

    Who you rooting for now?

Got a few quid on Bingham & Murphy at big prices. Bingham looked very good this morning. Murphy has been woefully out of form but could be dangerous if he gets on a roll.

Not backed him but I'd love to see Judd Trump win it, I love watching him play. Unreal talent.

I'm a big Bingham fan too. I like Murphy, too, but he's been bang out of form for so long now, not sure I'd dare back him.

I'm afraid I'm not a Trump fan. Great, great player, but not someone I much like or respect as a person. Certainly an extraordinary talent when he chooses to apply himself. Dreadful shoes, too, £1,000 a pair. I've got a pair exactly the same, but I only wear them when I'm down the allotment.

I missed most of this, but how has Bingham got in this mess?

It's not at all like him to mentally implode, but he had this all sewn up after the first session.

Fair play to Dott who somehow hung in there when it looked all over.

I'm hoping Bingham gets his head back in place, would like to see him go deep.

Never seen a start like this in a snooker match.

Don't know what was said but that's got to be the quickest ejection from a sporting arena ever.

Did anyone also hear the 'loser' shout out disguised as a 'cough' that the ref missed ?
