Tournament tokens issue

EvilPinguEvilPingu Member Posts: 3,462
Found out today that the Sky software uses tournament tokens in a completely illogical order (oldest first).

Won the Facebook competition for one of the £10 tournament tokens, which was actually credited to my account as 2 x £5.50 tokens. Also had a £2.30 RB token from last week. Forgot that I had the tokens from the Facebook competition, so registered a £3.30 DYM to use up the £2.30 token.

Because it used my tokens in the order they were credited, it used my £2.30 token and took my £5.50 token for the remaining £1.00 of the buyin, despite the £5.50 token covering the value of the tournament buyin on its own.

It's my mistake using the £5.50 token for a £3.30 DYM and forgetting that I have larger value tokens in my account to use, but at the same time it makes no sense to take the £2.30 token out of my account in that spot when the £5.50 token covers the tournament entry by itself.

Can I have the £2.30 token returned to me please? Also I suggest altering the system to take the smallest value of tokens possible to avoid similar issues in the future.

Ta.

    Hi Evil one.

I remember when these tokens we're introduced and teething problems came to light.

The only solution presently is to take some time away from the tables and phone CC to get reimbursed sadly.
    Unless I'm wrong.

    Morning Andy @EvilPingu

This is one over which we could debate all day, as some of what you wrote is correct, & some is not.

It might seen illogical to use the oldest token first, but I suspect that's done for a reason. Tokens have an expiry date, & when Tokens go past that date & become void, the players tend to get very uppity & all sorts of bad blood arises.

These things are sorted automatically by software code, so I suppose it prioritises some things over others, & in the process, sometimes common-sense goes out of the window. This is the price of mass market digital products.

Anyway, a nice new shiny £2.30 Tournament Token is now sitting in your Account. Use it well. ;)

Just on this subject, say I had a £10, £10 and £5 token in my account, and I used the £10 on an £11 tourney, would it then use my £10/£5 token on the remaining £1?

Same thing has just happened to me:

I had a £10, £10 and £5 token, so I registered a tournament £7.70, assuming it would use my £5 token and take the remaining £2.70 out of my balance. However, it used the £5 token and one of the £10 tokens for the remaining £2.70, so I essentially lost £7.30 through this.

    Hi @mabbott96

I would suggest your best course of action is to contact Customer Care.

Explain the situation politely, & they may well sort it out for you.

There is a workaround but it is a pain.

Use 1 token to buy into a tourney running later for less value, do the same with the other token.

Reg for the tourney you want to play, then de-reg the other 2.

    Proper pain but it works.
