Can you make this call? (This happened in the EPT Final yesterday).

Well these lads play a different game to you & me David, but even so, that's some call.

Mind you, I can think of a few on Sky Poker who'd call in a heartbeat. @Jac35 would, for sure.

Looks pretty crazy in a vacuum but not as amazing a call as Stuey Ungar calling Johnny Chan with 10 high 'that' time.

The stakes of the call is what makes it so good. Lots of good players can make a call like this in their regular game but at an EPT main event FT it's a different matter. T high is really not that different from A high in this spot - it's extremely improbable that Loeser is bluffing with a better hand so it's 9x or Jx always. 9x probably isn't shipping though without a read that hero loves "hero" calling huge overbets but rather going smaller for value - 2.5-3x pot is arguably better to try and get hero calls.

Jx might shove since it then beats 9x that would call but it's hard to say - many would prefer just to do the same thing and overbet by a smaller amount.

Now I know why fish are calling 5 high when I'm AI on river.

This river AI is a polarized action, these players will know A high K high and Q high combos do not go AI on this river because they have got good showdown value and can bluff catch meaning you left with slow played Jx and bluffs possibly 9x if you know opponent will call high cards.

If you were sitting in the boots of that player with 62 you don't see many Jx and 9x in the opponents range because they gonna bet the flop and or turn whilst Ax combos may well shove pre, Kx Qx combos are in his range but so are Tx 8x 7x 6x 5x 4x which we expect to fold.

If you were sitting in the boots of that player with T2 you would be asking yourself why is Jx and 9x Ch a very draw heavy flop and turn and over bet shoving the river, what about hands like Ax Kx Qx well those combos have got good showdown value they ahead of all the weaker high cards and bluff catch the river. When he thinks about all this and adds it together the river jam does look a more bluffy type play with high card that is trying to steal a split pot.
