No doubt some lame judge will give them a slap on the wrists.
It is a common held belief that a line runs through society which has inherently bad people on one side and intrinsically good people on the other and this serves societies requirement to feel insulated from the morality of the perceived bad people.
I however, would contend that the line actually runs through everyones heart and that it is how our internal compass steers us that ultimately decides which side of the line we are on at any given point.
FWIW my default setting is to usually steer toward sin / wrongdoing / bad choices etc. This isnt out of any overt desire to be bad just that often its easier to follow the path of least resistance and thats usually the wrong path.
Add to this the moral decline of the last 40 years, the fact that wrongdoing by children frequently goes unpunished leading to a belief that they are untouchable and an increased "right of entitlement" element of thinking and thats a catalyst for disaster.
Now also factor the decline in parenting skills, lack of suitable role models, the desensitisation of society to violence death and destruction and theres a compelling argument right there.
So where does all this hate come from ?
It comes from us.
You don't have to go back that far to find black people being lynched in the USA, because they were black.
South African apartheid.
Just look at the way we behave in wars, or conflicts.
The Holocaust.
Ethnic cleansing in Eastern Europe.
Rwanda genocide.
The Rohingya genocide.
Kurdish genocide.
Syria.
There are probably many more examples of the diabolical things that humans are capable of, but I am not going to spend all day looking them up.
We used to send gay people to jail.
To a much lesser extent in this country it wasn't that long ago that it was acceptable to have signs in the windows of bed and breakfasts that said No Irish, No Blacks, No dogs.
We have had gay people thrown out of guest houses, and bakers refusing to bake them cakes.
Anne Widdecombe just got elected as an MEP, and thinks gay people can be cured.
Enoch Powell was quite popular, and wanted to send black people home.
Theresa May had "Go Home" vans travelling around the country.
Windrush.
The Stephen Lawrence murder was horrific.
The saving grace is that the overwhelming majority are genuinely good people.
What about,
Trumps defence of his cruel treatment of illegal immigrant children.
The persecution of gay people in many places throughout the world.
The Talibans routine treatment of women.
Islamic State.
The fact that we continue to trade with Saudi Arabia, despite their regular beheadings, and chopping hands off children.
The commonplace burying of women up to their necks, before stoning them to death.
The Eastern Europeans that raped/murdered, including burning alive their neighbours that they had lived next door to for 20 or 30 years.
Suicide bombers that act in pairs, in order to detonate the second bomb on arrival of the emergency services, that have arrived in response to the first detonation.
The imprisonment/execution of journalists.
People that murder their whole family.
Mass murderers that shoot up schools, workplaces, hotels, concerts etc.
Any amount of serial killers.
The unwarranted murderous Israeli response to Palestinian protests.
Pol Pot, Mao, Stalin, and Hitler were responsible for the deaths of many millions.

Kyle Kashuv, a Parkland shooting survivor who has since become a conservative activist who spoke at the NRA’s annual meeting this year and in 2018, has become the center of a new political culture firestorm.
On Monday, he tweeted that his admission to Harvard University had been rescinded after the unearthing of racist and anti-Semitic comments he made in text messages and a shared Google doc with classmates prior to the shooting. He told me in an interview he used those slurs for “shock value.”
The comments, which swirled around Twitter before being first reported by the Huffington Post in May, included gratuitous use of the n-word, anti-Semitic references and a reference to a fellow student as a “ni**erjock”. In a statement on Twitter, Kashuv said that he was “embarrassed” by what he said.
In the Google doc, a venue teens frequently use as an unmonitored digital chat platform, Kashuv typed a racial slur over and over again, even bragging that “im really good at typing ni**er ok like practice uhhhhhh makes perfect.” The text messages are arguably worse — he demeans a female classmate by saying she only “goes for ni**erjocks,” suggesting that she would prefer such black men sexually to a “pasty jew” (it’s not clear from the screenshots what the context for this is).

Three teenagers have been jailed for subjecting a boy to a brutal six hour torture ordeal which involved burning his genitals with a cigarette lighter - because he spilled a drink.
The terrified 15-year-old schoolboy was held captive by the trio of thugs during which time he was slashed with a knife and had lit cigarettes stubbed out on his face.
He was also battered with a curtain pole, ordered to lick up the spilled drink from the floor and when he refused had a Pot Noodle poured over his head.
A court heard how the victim suffered serious injuries, including cuts and a badly broken nose, during the harrowing assault in the early hours of September 29 last year.

Four teenage girls have been spared jail despite admitting being part of an attack on an Egyptian student who later died.
Mariam Moustafa was punched several times near a bus stop in Parliament Street, Nottingham, on 20 February last year.
The engineering student suffered a stroke after being taken to the Queen's Medical Centre and died at Nottingham City Hospital on 14 March.

A carer who was secretly filmed slapping and abusing a 101-year-old dementia patient has been jailed for eight months.
Shocking footage shows Ashikiah Reid roughly cleaning the pensioner's face with a flannel and slapping her hands and arms.
The elderly woman can be heard crying out in pain and seen reaching out to Reid as she appears to forcefully manhandle her.
At one point Reid points her finger in the woman's face.
The 36-year-old was filmed on hidden cameras after the victim's family became concerned about her home care.

Malcolm Mide-Madariola, 17 was murdered in Clapham, south London in November last year with a blade purchased from Knife Warehouse for £19.99. A 17-year-old youth will be sentenced for Malcolm's murder at the Old Bailey next month. Malcolm's parents, Olumide and Olukemi believe the police should be allowed to use 'stop and search' more frequently to make the streets safer. Malcom's killer was handed the knife by Treynae Campbell, who had an arsenal of 15 blades, all purchased from Knife Warehouse over the course of nine months.
Police are hunting three boys in connection with an "appalling" homophobic knife attack on two men.
The men were assaulted at about 21:20 BST on Saturday as they walked down Manningham Road, Anfield, Liverpool.
Police said three boys, aged between 12 and 15, began by making "homophobic insults" before one of them produced a knife and attacked the men.
One of the victims suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries to his head and neck. Both are in hospital.
Merseyside Police said the men, both in their 30s, had been "left incredibly shaken by the incident".
Det Insp Tara Denn said: "This was an appalling and unprovoked attack on two men simply making their way home."
"The hate and violence that has been inflicted on them is simply unacceptable and won't be tolerated on the streets of Merseyside," she added.
