The island of Antikythira nestled between Crete and Kythira is home to just 24 people and is willing to take young families for £450 per month, as well as a plot of land and even free food (pictured: cannons looking out to sea; a stunning inlet in the cliffs, inset right; and one of the oldest lighthouses in Greece, inset left). The Bishop of Kythera and Monemvasia along with the local council of the small island are hoping to reinvigorate it with new inhabitants, preferring families with at least three children. The council are hoping to secure people to be employed as fishermen, farmers, builders and bakers.
