Not very aux fais with things South or West Walean but I do believe that Laugharne has a splendid castle and is also associated very closely with a certain Dylan Thomas. Unless I've got the wrong place.

Yes, he said he went there for a day, and never left. He lived in a boat house quite near to the castle. I know it quite well as I worked for a company based there for over 20 years. MISTY4ME also worked there for a bit. Dylan Thomas used to drink in the Browns Hotel. We had a bloke working for us, that used to drink there at the same time. He said that Dylan didn't used to drink much at that time. He apparently didn't start drinking heavily until he went to the US. He is well known for "Under Milk Wood" which was about a Welsh village called Llareggub.
Which just happens to spell bu gger all backwards.
Our company used to telephone canvas using the telephone directory, to pitch people to come into our resort in Laugharne to attend sales presentations, and remember one particular week where it seemed that we had persuaded practically everyone that appeared in the Under Milk Wood film, as extras, to come in.
The film had a really good cast, including Ruth Madoc of Hi De Hi, who got her bo obs out, and David Jason, who didn't.
Richard Burton as First Man Elizabeth Taylor as Rosie Probert Peter O'Toole as Captain Tom Cat Siân Phillips as Mrs. Ogmore-Pritchard Glynis Johns as Myfanwy Price Vivien Merchant as Mrs. Pugh Victor Spinetti as Mog Edwards Ryan Davies as Second Man Angharad Rees as Gossamer Beynon.
