Tonight, with the weather cooling down a little, we are off to York Races.

York is a beautiful but very odd City. It contains 4 areas of common land known as "Strays". These are Bootham Stray, Micklegate Stray, Monk Stray & Micklegate Stray.

The Knavesmire, upon which sits York Racecourse, is in Micklegate Stray. There you go, impress your pals in the pub with that, though in truth, if you regale them with stuff like that, it's unlikely you have any friends. I speak from experience, obv.

York Racecourse is also the home of the famous Ebor Handicap, Britain's richest handicap race, which Sky Bet are sponsoring this year. The racecourse have even invested in a new super-sized set of starting stalls to accommodate 22 runners for the Sky Bet Ebor. True story bro.
