Hi All,

If there is a Big Blind ante should you play the game as if stacks are the BB + Ante or just the BB.

e.g blinds are 500-1,000 with 1,000 BB ante. I have 20,000 in chips. Should i play this like a 10BB stack or a 20BB stack? Or something different?

Thanks all!

    You're still 20bb deep.

The big blind still has the same improved price to defend vs a steal because of the antes. If you minraise he's still getting ~4.5/1 to defend. The fact the antes are all from his stack doesn't change that.

Therefore, play the same as you'd normally play 20 bigs deep with antes.

Will be some adjustments to satellite and <2-3bb strategy in particular as a result - Basically spots that change because you're all in due to the BB plus ante, whereas with a regular ante before you might have been all in for your last ante in half a dozen hands time. But that's about it.

Edit: another question, how much should you tighten up on or around the bubble to sneak into the money?
