Having just watched the first episode,what a gripping/shocking/revealing documentary this was.It charts the rise of the Nazi party in the early 1930's.It shows the secret deals/decisions/coalitions/colluding/party politics that led to the party gaining power.I was shocked at some of the parallels as to what is now going on in this day and age.When you hear phrases,see actions,decisions made back in the 1930's being repeated today,knowing full well the previous outcome,it certainly hits home.I urge everyone who has commented on the Brexit/Political posts on this forum to give this series a watch,it will open your eyes to a lot of things. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

    @lucy4

    Great Post.

    I watched it, it thoroughly depressed me, most especially the parallels that are obvious with the current right-wing groups that are springing up, & the thoroughly odious Tommy Robinson.

    You could spot a few modern day 'people' in the first episode. I found myself gasping at how some of the events mirrored what is happening in today's society.

    Watched the second episode yesterday,it is riveting how all the circumstances/decisions fell into place to allow the party to gain power and how some of those circumstances/decisions could have been avoided,thus changing the entire history of the world as we now know it.

    Watched the final episode yesterday,what a riveting,eye opening documentary,it wasn't all the idea of just the one man,plus the fact that the party was so close to being stopped,which shocked me.
