Put yourself about on the Forum, chat with the lads & you'll find this place is just fine. If there's a less cliquey site I've yet to see it. Honest. Takes two to tango though.
Live local to Coventry presumably? Believe it or not I can remember when Jimmy Hill ran the Club, though to be fair I'm well into my fifties. Oh what times.
What formats of poker you play - DYM's, MTT's or cash?

Yeah, I recall it, you made the Final Table of a Mini UKOP event in May of this year & I uploaded this photo......
People know each other when they’ve posted for a long time or met at a live tournament and so they will have banter etc But when new people post and do so in a reasonable manner then they are welcomed warmly too. Rearenders thread being a good example I believe he’s only really started posting on here regularly quite recently
His thread has had plenty of interaction and he’s been welcomed by all on here. We always need new posters. They’ll always be well received if they make a bit of effort
The chap - @rearender - had barely posted here before a few weeks ago, "only" played small-ball but was looking for a bit of motivation, the thread is a perfect example to demonstrate how helpful the lads are on here.
Here you go bud, a Daily Forum Comp, free to enter, we just a have a "virtual" bet every night, & the winners get Free Tournament Entries each week. (1st gets a £33 MTT seat, 2nd a £11 MTT seat & 3rd a £5.50 MTT seat). No forms to fill in, don't have to register, just log in to the Forum each day & place your bet on the thread, job done. Everyone is welcome. We only get about 50 entries too, so you have a deece chance of a prize each week.
@covcitymad I used to think the same but the reason I thought that is because I never made an effort either. I was just an occasional player that didn't get involved. I have since joined a team got involved in the Forum, and the daily comps and whatever @Tikay10 says the forum comp I have never came close to anything. You get out what you put in at the end of the day.
ill give it a chance, dont like the abuse when u lose
Personally?
It's the best site for friendly banter, very rarely get abused, and if it seems cliquey when people are chatting, it's because they've got to know each other BY chatting!
eg Take @MISTY4ME , bless..he'll talk to anybody, sometimes I'll take him out for an ice cream- its a care in the community thang, but I like to do my bit
GLGL and I look forward to losing to you sometime!

This - Often they've played each other a decent amount over several years as well. It's like if you go play in a new pub game or casino. If you go in there once, don't say anything and never go back because you have believe that it's 'cliquey' since all the regs have known each other a while, then it's a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Besides, the alternative is other sites where nobody chats unless it's to hurl insults at you if you make a bad play and get lucky, and the closest you get to making friends with anyone is finding out that they're playing 23/19/5 over 15k hands and they cbet 62% of flops.
The community is one of Sky's biggest USPs for a reasonable number of players for that reason.

Or do you mean 'cliquey'?

Seriously though mate, give the lads here a chance, they really are a decent bunch, very helpful & great Community spirit.
If you hung around for a week you'd be one of them. Really.
Anyway, run good bud.
PS - Very sad news about Mad Marty, & yeah, he & I are proper old school, though I'm older than he was I think.
Do you mean at the tables or on the forum?

That thread @Jac35 mentioned is a great example.
