Who won what on Saturday - shock winner of the Main Event

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 172,092

Thin night last night, with the Main missing by a good few bob, & the other 3 just about falling over the line.

The SPT Semi? Don't ask.

Shock of the night though was the winner of the Main Event. How do these things happen? Biggest shock since this famous Grand National winner in 1976.

    £8,000 Sharpshooter (£8,000)

    Remarkably, the win went to HAYSIE. Why "remarkably"? The chap does not have much going for him, he's elderly (very elderly), he's Welsh, & so, it goes without saying he's argumentative. All elderly Welsh folks are. Congrats to the old boy though, a Main Event here still takes some winning. It's his biggest win since he won the Sunday Major early last month, & last night's winnings amounts to about 10 weeks Old Age Pension. Very nice, & all joking aside, well done mate.

    @HAYSIE 2400000 1 £1181.84 + £294.66 Head Prizes 7

    @boggo 0 2 £705.32 + £104.65 Head Prizes 4

    @Gambelo 0 3 £420.64 + £130.21 Head Prizes 8

    £2,000 Mini Sharpshooter (£2,220)

    It's been over 3 years since blu6 featured in a Daily MTT Update, so a big well done. Been a while for hawera, too.

    Not so for Arrogant, who was 3rd in the Main on Wednesday, or engy, who Final Table bubbled the Mini 10 days ago.

    @blu6 4440000 1 £277.50 + £71.25 Head Prizes 10

    @hawera 0 2 £155.40 + £10.62 Head Prizes 4

    @jack100 0 3 £91.69 + £43.31 Head Prizes 9

    @tigger30 0 4 £72.70 + £23.96 Head Prizes 9

    £2,000 Sheriff (£2,200)

    Winner WOW1tsANDY seat bubbled the SPT Notts Semi a few days ago, so this was was not only splendid consolation, but means he has the wherewithal to buy-in direct if he so desires & treat it as a freeroll. He played well once it got heads-up, & certainly had the number of the runner-up, though to be fair, everyone did.

    StayOrGo ran 3rd, just ahead of Mean Machine.

    @WOW1tsANDY 220000 1 £440 + £258.80 Head Prizes 5

    @1409 0 2 £275 + £118.65 Head Prizes 4

    @StayOrGo 0 3 £165 + £62.11 Head Prizes 3

    @GSmith13 0 4 £121 + £80.86 Head Prizes 4

    @IKR69 0 5 £99 + £90.23 Head Prizes 4

    @smith1408 0 6 £55.45 Head Prizes 2

    £1,000 Quickdraw (£1,200)

    The "bhoy" in the winner's alias tells us he is a Celtic fan, so it begs the question why is his alias spelt "ceticbhoy" rather than "celticbhoy". Does "cetic" have some meaning I'm not aware of?

    tug180 must wonder whether to laugh or cry - this was the 3rd time in the last 4 nights he has finished runner-up in Quickdraw. Brutal in some ways, but we really should be happy to be runner-up 3 times in 4 nights. The nature of the game, & I suppose life in general, means he was probably disappointed, & so would we be. It's fascinating how the mind works.

    @ceticbhoy 120000 1 £300 + £207.41 Head Prizes 5

    @tug180 0 2 £180 + £48.05 Head Prizes 2

    @jakealex 0 3 £120 + £82.03 Head Prizes 3

    @destinycod 0 4 £42.19 Head Prizes 2

    @SenorBegs 0 5 0

    @skyflyer 0 6 £23.44 Head Prizes 1

    SPT Notts Semi (7 entries).

    Yup, not a typo - 7 entries. Ugh.

    cal69 & KillieDave were both winning their first SPT Notts seat, with AKAscotty just missing out, though he did win a seat earlier in the week so we can expect to see him there. 4th was LnfaoAllin who has already booked his seat too, though ideally he needs 4. (I've seen him play).

    @cal69 17280 1 SPT Nottingham Seat

    @KillieDave 3720 2 SPT Nottingham Seat

    @AKAscotty 0 3
    @LmfaoAllin 0 4
    @CJ111 0 5
    @kirbsuk83 0 6
    @gez_bear 0 7

    You seem to know a lot about old age pensions.

    I didn't have a clue about how much it is, until you mentioned it.

    Maybe Money Supermarket need a pensions adviser.
