Who won what on Sunday

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 174,562

On Sunday, when the Big 4 becomes the Big 5, as we include the £6k BH that kicks off at 7.30, the aggregate Guarantees are easily the biggest of the week at £23,000, so are a bit of a stretch. No problem last night though, with those 5 Prize Pools coming in at £29,150, 27% above Guarantees.

Stars of the show were the £12,000 Major (£15,000) & the £2,000 Sheriff (£3,150), with, rather oddly, the Mini Major letting the side down as it actually missed Guarantee, albeit only by a smidge. (A "smidge", for those that don't have a Degree in English, is 3 entries).

    £6,000 BH @ 7.30 (£7,350)

Our winner, grinddd, was 2nd in this very MTT in early September, so this would have been a fist-pump for him.

RAKKKI, who was 3rd, actually won this on September 10th. He & 4th placed Sharki0 both have a good UKOPS CV, so we can expect to see them next week.

    £12,000 Sunday Major (£15,000)

The win went to skyflyer, ahead of pokarito.

I'll be honest, I was rather hoping Doooobs would win this, as he's a very good pal of mine & we've spent many a happy hour sharing tables in Vegas. David has 5 WSOP cashes from a very low sample size, & was runner-up in the London GUKPT a few years ago. On Sky Poker he only plays the big stuff when work & family allow, but he won the £500 High Roller at the Easter UKOPS this year for over £8,000. Very good player indeed.

    £2,000 Mini Major (£2,000)

As far as I can tell, BLUESTONES has been quiet results-wise since running 2nd to @Essexphil in Easter UKOPS 29 back in April.

Woebegone is getting plenty of nice results, including a Quickdraw win exactly a week ago.

@Toffeeandy was trying to win the Mini Major for the 2nd straight week, & made a very good fist of it, eventually ended up 6th.

    £2,000 Sheriff (£3,150)

This was a 2nd "Big 4" win for Limp2Lose in October, as he also won Summit at the start of the month.

Groggy managed to finish 4th without taking a single bounty. He's gone at the game.

    £1,000 Quickdraw (£1,650)

The Bates continues to rev himself up for UKOPS, seems to be running into form at exactly the right time.

In 3rd was bluecall07 who won Sheriff on Saturday night, & Quickdraw a week earlier.

    SIGH

    :(

Had a great night 'til not quite making the cash, went out in a huge 4-way pot, but at least @Doooobs put my chips to good use.

I actually sat next to him at the last SKYPoker UKPC at DTD. He's a really nice bloke. He took all my chips there too when he rivered a Full House.

    Well....wp most.

The guy who called my 5-bet with 99, and shoved on a J 10 3 board, and got 8 Q turn/river not so much :)

sorry @misty4me, I had no idea what to do with 5s here, I had too many chips and there was too much in the pot, plus nobody can raise after me. I think fold is probably right looking back, as I looked at that flop and thought I am going to have to call here, and what a stupid way to dust off a big stack. I was pretty glad to see that turn to save my blushes.

Thanks for good wishes @Tikay10, I would liked to have won too, but skyflyer had all the chips 5 handed and it was hard to make headway.

No worries @Doooobs. It's a pleasure to learn from good players. There is a lot of running well at the right time in Poker, but certainly you have to be in the big pots to win BIG. How often do we look at a run out and wish we were still in the pot ;)

    WELL DONE again yesterday
