Good morning.
The aggregate Guarantees of last night's 7 UKOPS MTT's amounted to £51,500. Say it quickly & £51k does not sound like a lot of money, and on, say, PokerStars or Party it would not be, but on Sky Poker that's a whole lot, make no mistake. So to beat that figure by 25% was no mean feat, well done the Team up in Leeds who put the Series together, as well as the loyal Sky Poker players.
Interestingly (and when someone writes "interestingly", it rarely is) the very first of last night's 7 UKOPS events missed it's Guarantee by quite a large %. And guess what - it was a non BH with no rebuys or re-entries, or what the kids these days call a "vanilla". It was the first (& last) vanilla of this UKOPS.
The debate about this on Sky Poker has been repeated time & time again. "Too many Bounty Hunters", & I completely get that. Truth is, when it comes to the test, freezeouts are just not as popular as Bounty Hunters, end of.
Anyway, on we go, there's a lot to get through this morning, including not one, but TWO final Table Jackpot winners.

UKOPS 13 £3,000 Freezeout (£3,000)
As noted in the preamble, this one came up short of it's Guarantee at £2,620. Not a big deal financially, but indicative of the trend away from pure freezeouts. And of how the game has changed in the last 10 or 15 years.
None of which detracts from those who played it of course, & a big well done to the winner, @ufud. His last decent result was 3rd in the Avenger Mini 3 weeks ago, though he had a decent night last night, as in addition to winning this, he was 8th of 239 in a fiver BH & 2nd of 102 in the 7.15pm Deep Stack.
James, aka LmfaoAllin was 2nd, & he would have taken immense satisfaction from beating @cpfc_2010 into 3rd. And both would have loved restricting The Hippo to 5th. In fact, my records indicate that @ctbn might be the worst ever player to final a UKOPS.
Honourable mention to memfno too, in 6th.

If you had to guess a UKOPS that would beat Guarantee by a whopping 47%, I doubt many would have suggested it would be a £220 event, Sky Poker is not the natural home of £220 MTT's & they are far & few between.UKOPS 14 £15,000 High Roller B/Hunter (£22,000)
90 Uniques & 20 re-entries was monsta, & far in excess of what I had anticipated, though that just confirms how much (much = little) I know.
Victory went to Limp2Lose who took the biggest prize so far in the current UKOPS. His Dad, @StayOrGo would have felt a mixture of pride & annoyance, pride that his lad did so well & annoyance that he could not do better himself than 40th. Revenge can be expected as the Series progresses, trust me.
In 2nd destinycod collected almost £3,000, very nice too, though £600 less than he took home when he won the Sunday Major 3 weeks ago to the day.
In 3rd was alancarr12 who cashes in the bigger stuff several times a week, though the last Big 4 won I can see on his resume was winning Sheriff at the end of September.
In 6th was Gambelo who generally does well in UKOPS, & we can expect to see more of him as the week progresses.

UKOPS 15 £20,000 Bounty Hunter (£23,000)
Despite a smaller price tag than the High Roller, this was actually the Main Event of the evening, & this one did well too, beating Guarantee by 11.5%. Much of this was down to the innovations shown by @Sky__James in getting players qualified by various means.
Sharki0, 2nd in UKOPS 03 on Friday, took the win, & this was his 3rd cash of this UKOPS, so he'll be vying for Total Player Leaderboard glory.
Runner-up @nishg is no stranger to deep runs, he won Sharpshooter on October 5th, though he won more here in the runner-up berth.
In 4th was albania, making his 2nd Final Table of this UKOPS. He seems to rarely play MTT's here except for UKOPS, & had not been seen here in MTT's since the Easter UKOPS prior to Friday. His biggest MTT result on Sky Poker was also in a UKOPS, being the Xmas UKOPS Main Event in 2017, when he collected a few pennies shy of £9,000. Curiously, in 3rd place that day was Sharki0 who was to take the honours last night.
4th was WOW1tsANDY, & don't be surprised if he wins a UKOPS before the week is out. He has made a Final Table on each of the 3 nights of this UKOPS so far, can't think of many (any?) others who have achieved that.

UKOPS 16 £5,000 Mini Bounty Hunter (£6,190)
Another huge field for what was the UKOPS equivalent of the Mini, with 431 Uniques & 188 re-entries.
History - of sorts - was made in this, as it resulted in not one but TWO Final Table Jackpot winners. @roddy28 was 6th in the Main & won this, whilst @nishg was 2nd in the Main & 5th here. Have we ever had 2 FTJ winners on the same night before? I certainly can't recall it.
In 3rd was MAXALLY, looks like someone must have turned that boom-switch on. About time, too, well done Alan.

Lord Crush booked the win, & surprisingly, this was his first FT of this UKOPS as far as I can see.
Meanwhile, Sharki0 (4th) & destinycod (5th) were both making their 2nd UKOPS final of the evening.
In 6th was Super_Oli, making his 2nd FT of the Series.

SPT Grand Final Semi (21 entries)
With 6 seats to Manchester guaranteed, this was exceptional value.
superslo rounded off the wek in style with a seat to SPT Manchester, this was the £1,000 Golden Ticket winner a week ago.
Palace Bloke got one too, as did dameflop, but her hubbie, glencoelad was not so fortunate. He has to win his seat now.
A decent night'd work for destinycod too, 2 UKOPS FT's & a seat to SPT Manchester.
Melty & lolufold rounded out the seat winners, with Donald brutally coming up one spot shy.

I do agree that freezeouts (now) are not as popular as freezeouts (were). I do stil find it a bit sad though. I suspect you'd be appalled when you see some of the all ins for a gazillion big blinds first hand of the NLO8 bounty hunter on stars.
Very well done to roddy28 & nishg on the double FT Jackpot success. I was expecting a thread title like 'Roddy h3ll, 3 Final tables'
Alias of the day goes to a player from mini.....AndyCoal
Ha, it was not quite THAT bad.
"....this one came up short of it's Guarantee at £2,620....."
By which I meant it had a £3,000 Guarantee & only made £2,620. Sorry if I never made that clear.
And yes, I well remember those Mansion things. $100,000 Guarantee each day, they usually gave away a ton of seats - blonde alone were given 10 every day - & it still rarely bettered half of the Guarantee, it was astonishing. It continued for a good few months too. There was so much money sloshing around in poker at the time, but like every bubble, it eventually burst. Marc Goodwin - "Mr Cool" - was the Mansion Pro at the time, & he flew to tournaments all over the world in a private jet provided by Mansion. Mansion also sponsored a lowly football team as I recall.
I could not agree more as to freezeouts, it's pretty sad but that's how it is these days.
There was a farcical event in the recent WSOPE when there was a €100,000 buy-in event, and Dominik Nitsche fired 7 (SEVEN) bullets at it. Seven x €100,000 bullets, that's obscene.
There's an argument which says that makes it good value for others, but that's slightly flawed. When players can just move all-in every hand & then simply chuck another 100 grand bullet in, it makes a complete mockery of poker.
And yes, what a great alias - AndyCoal.
You have to be old to remember the days when everybody used to buy coal, and houses used to have coal bunkers.
Anyway back to the joke, cutting a long story short, and the coal merchant slowly driving down the street, shouting out of the window of his lorry, that he had good quality coal for sale, at competitive prices.
The poor old fella who can hardly walk, is staggering back to his lorry, exhausted, after accepting the offer of sex in lieu of payment from his third consecutive customer, begins shouting "Coal for money, Coal for money"
Had a fun night with lots of banter on the tables, especially with the 'Mad Hatter' @madprof, who joined my table near the cash of this event. He just needs to learn to sit on his fingers on/near the Bubble
I thought my quote when @bumski03 was knocking people out of this for fun, of "Bums on Fire!" was pretty good, but the best one had to be when @MAXALLY and me were discussing how well @roddy28 was doing Final Tabling the Main, Mini and High Roller when @MAXALLY got KO'd by him and said "He must be a 'Bot", a few seconds later up came @roddy28 's one line of chat all night....... "I am real "
Wow, I never realised that @roddy28 made the FT of the High Roller too. 3 UKOPS Finals in one night, doubt that will ever be beaten. Very well done Mr Real Man.
Talking of bums on fire, here you go;
Thanks for the write up and kind words @Tikay10
I think I get more satisfaction out of seeing people I have helped with their game doing well, than I do with my own results.
Good job really after my own start to UKOPS.
There are a group of players who I am currently helping with their game, and touch wood, they are doing OK at the moment.
I really do enjoy watching them progress. It is nice to still have something to smile about even after I bust my own tournaments.
