Sounds silly, but remember other Disabilities are catered for regards Parking bays, wheel chair ramps, disabled Toilets. Downs/Autism is on the increase and many sufferers are trapped unable to go to public places because of noise levels. Like Dogs which I mentioned regard Fireworks they too suffer loud noise ..... strange they can make the noise themselves and handle it, but struggle with other people making it. Not just Theatres, Football Matches even Restaurants Swimming Pools. Think this young Lady means well and lifted the awareness to sufferers plight, should Coach load attend Christmas Panto and asked the Audience not to Applaud they would comply. To roll out World ban is big ask. fwiw
First made aware of " Jazz hands" from my Granddaughter who's at Uni, she said, it was born out of "Students Social Welfare Project" and sort of took off. Oxford / Manchester Uni's Students promoting it, sounds completely bonkers till you talk to people, then you think again, but still flawed in that people will laugh, shout or sing during performances. Noise is noise whether from clapping or other sources, have you heard the racket the Audience make just before the start of the Show. Meaningful Idea that has some support but wont get a Patent.
