I think Hellmuth played this like a rec player playing a cash game at higher stakes than normal. I know he has won MILLIONS at the tables but he rarely plays cash at those stakes. Rob Long has needled him a few times about it on the stream.
If he thinks Trickett has a hand like AKss, A10ss or any nut flush draw. A set of Kings or Jacks might be in his thoughts. I do not think he wants to face a big river decision on the river if the spade hits or the board pairs.
I think he is happy to take the pot there due to the size of the turn bet and win win for Hellmuth if he wins he gets the pot if he gets called and gets outdrawn he gets to go full Poker Brat and tell everyone how he got it in way ahead and lost.
Thanks unabashed plugging you've been giving me on the forum today Tikay

Oh man, you've just reminded me of the commentary from Tuff_Fish. That guy came up with some great lines. Wonder if he's still around playing any where
Unlike most of Galfonds challenges, the recent mini 750 hand challenge v Jungleman, had no monetary side bet element. But perhaps something much worse, the loser had to make a video on why their opponent was the better man.
Love a good Cates rant almost as much as a Helmuth meltdown. I always remember how he got Scott Siever incandescent with rage by playing out of turn more than once on one of the Premier Leagues.

What are you doing with 9-9 in this spot?
Be interested in the thought processes of you guys.
What do we think of Phil Hellmuth's turn play here?
id,a jammed with my aces bit i,m an idiot
In hand 2 I can only assume Hellmuth shoved because Trickett pot bet so he thought he may be stronger than a 1 pair hand.
