Forum Comp Day 5, FRIDAY. Middlesbrough v Stoke City @ 7.45pm

We have to feature both big & small teams, so tonight we dip into the lower reaches of the Champo in a game which features two teams who are having a torrid season.
'Boro sit uneasily in 20th place, whilst Stoke City are 3 points & 2 places worse off. Stoke, as they plunge headlong on their fall from Premier League to League One, failed to register a single shot on target last week. Maybe they should change their Manager. Again.
On the face of it, a dire match is in progress & it has all the hallmarks of a drab 0-0, but you never know with football, maybe 'Boro will give the Midlands side a good thrashing.
'Boro are managed by Jonathan Woodgate, who used to be a top top player at Leeds United, though iirc, he was out of the side a great deal due to injuries.

Stoke City Manager (at time of writing....) is Jack O'Neill, who has previously managed such big clubs as Brechin City & Shamrock Rovers, so he's taken a huge drop in class by going to Stoke.

It's been a good few years since Stoke City had a decent player, I think the last was Gordon Banks who, sadly, passed away earlier this year. Don't even ask what's going on in the photo.
