With the New Year falling this week it's going to be a bit awkward, but we'll muddle through.
We start the week in the Champo, where Derby County "entertain" (surely that's the wrong adjective?) Charlton Athletic.
Both teams are having a dire season, sitting 17th & 18th & in serious danger of going down into League One next season.
Derby are without a win in 7 games, & Charlton broke a long winless streak in their last game.
Wayne Rooney is the great hope for Derby, but he can't start playing until January iirc. Whether his eventual arrival makes much difference remains to be seen.
Why are Derby doing so badly this season? It all stems from one off-field incident...

Wayne won't be playing in this game, but will his arrival herald an upturn in Derby's fortunes?
Thank you.
