Mother, 41, says she may have to declare her eight-year-old model son 'non-binary' so he can keep his Instagram-famous long hair at secondary school
Eight-year-old Farouk James (pictured right) from London has more than 260,000 followers on Instagram thanks to his incredible hair. He has already travelled to New York and Florence to show off his incredible mane of curls on the catwalk and has also worked for children's brands including Guess. His mother, Bonnie Miller, (pictured left with Farouk) is furious that his three target secondary schools ban boys from having long hair. Ms Miller, 41, is organising a petition calling on the government to ban the 'outdated practice' of hair rules. 'Parents have shown me they have had to chop their child's hair off, and the devastation it has caused,' she said. 'It's a part of their identity. 'You are asking someone to take away a huge part of themselves, to fit in to what is socially expected.'
